Job Overview: A Machine Operator is responsible for operating CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines and saws to cut, shape, and finish granite and stone materials. This role requires precision, technical skill, and a strong focus on safety and quality. Here's a job description for a Machine Operator in the granite and stone industry:

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Set up CNC machines and saws according to job specifications, including loading materials, selecting appropriate tools, and programming the machines.

• Operate CNC machines and saws to cut, shape, and finish granite and stone materials with precision and efficiency.

• Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality and productivity.

• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards, including measurements, surface finish, and edge profiles.

• Identify and address any defects or issues in the production process.

• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to prevent issues.

• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.

• Conduct safety checks on machinery before and after each use.

• Safely handle and move granite and stone slabs, ensuring they are positioned correctly for cutting and processing.

• Manage inventory and organize materials in the workspace.

• Maintain and replace cutting tools and saw blades as needed.

• Keep tools and equipment in good working condition.

• Maintain records of machine settings, production data, and quality control checks.

• Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to supervisors.

Required Skills:

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

• The ability to lift 50 or more pounds

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Previous CNC/SAW experience

• Attention to detail and precision in work

• Knowledge of stone materials, cutting techniques, and tooling

• Proficiency in operating CNC machinery and saws, including programming and troubleshooting

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $21.00 per hour
