Overview:We are seeking a detail-oriented clinical Laboratory Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology and microbiological laboratory techniques. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to biomedical research and development in a dynamic laboratory environment. A CLS certification is not required.Responsibilities:<ul><li>Perform molecular biology (molecular genetic) testing of clinical samples. Including sample management, nucleic acid extraction, PCR, Next-Generation Sequencing, and data management.</li><li>Utilizes various molecular genetic techniques, instrumentation, and disciplines related to PCR, Next-Generation Sequencing, and other molecular procedures.</li><li>Participate in experiments designed to validate molecular testing protocols and document performance characteristics of each procedure.</li><li>Performs validation studies to assess performance of new methods</li><li>Maintains laboratory records, archives, assay protocols, and sample or specimen repository sufficient to pass regulatory oversight including CAP and FDA.</li><li>Performs laboratory quality control and assurance activities.</li><li>Willingness to adapt to evolving technologies and stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in NGS and clinical microbiology. Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development.</li><li>A firm understanding of the laws, regulations and guidelines that govern the clinical diagnostic sector, with a willingness to stay up to date with the ever-evolving regulatory landscape, ensuring awareness of the legal obligations and requirements which businesses must adhere to.</li><li>Proven ability to quickly learn large amounts of new, complex technical information.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, to customers and colleagues.</li><li>Ability to balance multiple tasks while ensuring timely and accurate completion.</li><li>Ability to troubleshoot issues and problem-solve.</li><li>Problem-solving abilities and natural curiosity.</li><li>Digital literacy, including spreadsheet, database, word processing and Internet applications.</li></ul>Experience:The successful candidate should possess the followings:<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in a natural science field with &gt;1 year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li><li>Demonstrated experience with nucleic acid purification, PCR, NGS technologies, DNA &amp; RNA library preparation, and molecular bench techniques</li><li>Experience in ensuring and maintaining the integrity and quality of the laboratory in the areas of sample processing, equipment maintenance, and SOPs</li><li>Motivated to work independently and within a team environment</li><li>Willing to work in a biohazard environment and follow safety policies and standards outlined in the Safety Manual</li><li>Attention to detail and critical thinker</li><li>Familiarity with research development processes</li></ul>Candidates interested in pursuing a certification as a Clinical Laboratory Scientists (CLS/MLS) are encouraged to apply.This position offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.About Us:Progenabiome, LLCProgenabiome is a genetic sequencing research laboratory under the directive of Dr. Sabine Hazan, which is dedicated to understanding the power of anaerobic bacteria and correlating microbes to diseases.Our mission is to crack the genetic code of a trillion bacteria, fungi and viruses that live in our gut.Our hopes are to find cures for diseases that we feel are caused by alteration of the gut flora.We uphold the highest standards of integrity in all our actions.
