Summary:</b></p>
The Human Resources Specialist works collaboratively with the Recruitment Specialist and HR Manager to support onboarding, benefits administration, and related HR operations. This role ensures a seamless experience for both new hires and current employees by maintaining accuracy, compliance, and excellent service.<br>

<b>Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:</b></div><ul><li>
Onboarding Process<ul><li>
Collect new hire paperwork, including on-site in-person I-9 documentation review.</li><li>
Provide in-person 1:1 support to new hires, as needed.</li><li>
Review documents to ensure thorough and accurate completion.</li><li>
Process background checks; communicate status to supervisors; maintain clearance database</li><li>
Ensure verification of employment, education, and experience for both internal and external candidates</li><li>
Work with Recruitment Specialist to oversee completion of new hire electronic files.</li></ul></li><li>
Benefits/Leave Administration and Support<ul><li>
Manage employee benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations with accuracy and timeliness</li><li>
Serve as a knowledgeable resource for employees on benefits questions and issues, providing clear and helpful guidance</li><li>
Collaborate with benefits vendors and internal teams to resolve issues and improve processes</li><li>
Prepare and distribute benefits materials, including open enrollment communications and informational resources</li><li>
Facilitate benefits orientation and education sessions for new hires and current employees</li><li>
Administers leave of absence and Workers&rsquo; Compensation programs in collaboration with third-party administrators and carriers, ensuring compliance with all federal and state requirements</li><li>
Maintain up-to-date benefits documentation and employee records</li></ul></li><li>
Data Management and Compliance<ul><li>
Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance in HR systems</li><li>
Assist with benefits reporting and audits to meet regulatory and organizational requirements</li><li>
Support compliance with federal, state, and local regulations</li></ul></li><li>
Other Duties<ul><li>
Participate in team meetings, internal audits, and special projects as needed.</li><li>
Contribute to staff engagement initiatives such as surveys and recognition efforts.</li><li>

Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li>
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate&rsquo;s or Bachelor&rsquo;s degree preferred</li><li>
Experience with benefits administration or human resources, ideally in a supportive role</li><li>
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks accurately</li><li>
Excellent communication skills, comfortable answering questions and explaining benefits clearly</li><li>
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality</li><li>
Familiarity with HR information systems or benefits platforms is a plus</li><li>
Ability to sit for extended periods and perform routine computer work; occasional light lifting may be required</li></ul><p>
