We are currently undergoing a significant digital transformation of our Financial Planning &amp; Analysis (FP&amp;A) function, moving from an Excel-based system to a cutting-edge FP&amp;A software solution. Propell is looking for a Financial Analyst to help drive efficiency and turn data into actional insights in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Position Summary: The Financial Analyst will be a critical member of our finance team, supporting the company&rsquo;s FP&amp;A function and contributing directly to our strategic growth. This role is ideal for a curious tech-savvy professional with a background in manufacturing and a passion for turning data into actionable insights. The successful candidate will be a key user of our newly implemented FP&amp;A software, responsible for maintaining financial models, preparing analysis, and building reports and dashboards.
Key Roles &amp; Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Financial Modeling &amp; Analysis:<ul><li>
Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts, utilizing the company's FP&amp;A software.</li><li>
Conduct variance analysis by comparing actual results to budget and forecast, identifying key drivers and communicating insights to management.</li><li>
Support financial modeling for key business initiatives, including &quot;what-if&quot; scenario analysis.</li></ul></li><li>
Operational &amp; Cost Analysis:<ul><li>
Provide in-depth analysis of key manufacturing metrics, including production costs, material variances, labor costs, and operational expenditures.</li><li>
Support the tracking and analysis of capital expenditures (CapEx) for plant and equipment, comparing actual spend against approved budgets.</li><li>
Analyze large inventory data sets to identify trends, track turns, and help forecast inventory needs.</li></ul></li><li>
Reporting &amp; Dashboarding:<ul><li>
Generate and distribute recurring financial reports and operational dashboards for various stakeholders using the FP&amp;A platform.</li><li>
Assist in the creation of presentations and other ad-hoc financial reports as needed.</li><li>
Ensure data integrity and consistency across all financial reports and dashboards.</li></ul></li><li>
System &amp; Process Support:<ul><li>
Serve as a power user for the new FP&amp;A software, helping to maintain data integrity, update financial models, and create new reports and dashboards.</li><li>
Collaborate with the IT suport and finance team to ensure seamless data integration from the Syspro ERP and Prophix.</li><li>
Identify opportunities to automate and improve existing financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.</li></ul></li></ul>
Required Qualifications &amp; Skills:<ul><li>
Experience: 1-3 years of progressive experience in a financial analysis, FP&amp;A, or accounting role.</li><li>
Experience within the manufacturing, fabrication, or a related industrial sector is strongly preferred.</li><li>
Education: Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.</li><li>
Technical Skills:</li><li>
Proven experience with modern FP&amp;A software solutions (e.g., Prophix) is a strong plus.</li><li>
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, macros, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).</li><li>
Experience with ERP systems (Syspro preferred) and business intelligence tools (e.g., Prophix) is highly desirable.</li><li>
Ability to work with large, complex data sets from multiple sources.</li><li>
Other Skills:</li><li>
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.</li><li>
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, concise insights.</li><li>
