We are currently undergoing a significant digital transformation of our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function, moving from an Excel-based system to a cutting-edge FP&A software solution. Propell is looking for a Financial Analyst to help drive efficiency and turn data into actional insights in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Position Summary: The Financial Analyst will be a critical member of our finance team, supporting the company’s FP&A function and contributing directly to our strategic growth. This role is ideal for a curious tech-savvy professional with a background in manufacturing and a passion for turning data into actionable insights. The successful candidate will be a key user of our newly implemented FP&A software, responsible for maintaining financial models, preparing analysis, and building reports and dashboards.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Financial Modeling & Analysis:

Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts, utilizing the company's FP&A software.

Conduct variance analysis by comparing actual results to budget and forecast, identifying key drivers and communicating insights to management.

Support financial modeling for key business initiatives, including "what-if" scenario analysis.

Operational & Cost Analysis:

Provide in-depth analysis of key manufacturing metrics, including production costs, material variances, labor costs, and operational expenditures.

Support the tracking and analysis of capital expenditures (CapEx) for plant and equipment, comparing actual spend against approved budgets.

Analyze large inventory data sets to identify trends, track turns, and help forecast inventory needs.

Reporting & Dashboarding:

Generate and distribute recurring financial reports and operational dashboards for various stakeholders using the FP&A platform.

Assist in the creation of presentations and other ad-hoc financial reports as needed.

Ensure data integrity and consistency across all financial reports and dashboards.

System & Process Support:

Serve as a power user for the new FP&A software, helping to maintain data integrity, update financial models, and create new reports and dashboards.

Collaborate with the IT suport and finance team to ensure seamless data integration from the Syspro ERP and Prophix.

Identify opportunities to automate and improve existing financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Required Qualifications & Skills:

Experience: 1-3 years of progressive experience in a financial analysis, FP&A, or accounting role.

Experience within the manufacturing, fabrication, or a related industrial sector is strongly preferred.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

Technical Skills:

Proven experience with modern FP&A software solutions (e.g., Prophix) is a strong plus.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, macros, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).

Experience with ERP systems (Syspro preferred) and business intelligence tools (e.g., Prophix) is highly desirable.

Ability to work with large, complex data sets from multiple sources.
