About the RoleThis is a hands-on, lab-based role focused on the development, testing, and optimisation of UV-curable inks and coatings for label and packaging applications. The role will support both long- and short-term projects, covering new product development, technical enquiries and trouble-shooting.Key Responsibilities<ul> <li>Conduct and plan lab scale experiments and testing on raw materials and finished products. Report findings in a clear manner.</li><li>Collaborate with production, quality, and technical service teams to scale up and commercialise new products.</li><li>Investigate raw materials and new technologies to enhance product performance and optimise costs.</li><li>Maintain accurate lab records, technical documentation, and compliance with regulatory standards.</li></ul> What We're Looking For<ul> <li>Enthusiasm to learn and develop an understanding of inks and coatings and print processes.</li><li>Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail to be able to identify issues and provide solutions to technical problems.</li><li>A collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.</li><li>Good computer, verbal and written communication skills - ability to present written reports</li><li>A strong commitment to work, including discipline and dedication.</li><li>An analytical and critical thinker</li></ul> Desirables but not essential<ul> <li>Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or related field is preferred, but not essential for the right candidate.</li><li>Work experience in an industrial laboratory with strong practical skills.</li><li>Experience in UV ink or coating formulation (ideally in the narrow web or packaging sector) would be well regarded</li></ul> If you feel you do not have all the technical skills but have a passion for science and enjoy working with people, please apply!
