 We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to support the design and development of power protection equipment, including switchboards, power distribution units (PDUs), and power panels.   Responsibilities
  <br/>
  <br/>
 </strong>
 <ul>
  <li>
   Support mechanical design deliverables (design and documentation) for new and enhanced models of power protection equipment
  </li>
  <li>
   Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver designs on time, ensuring quality and alignment with customer and project requirements
  </li>
  <li>
   Participate in design reviews, providing feedback and implementing modifications
  </li>
  <li>
   Assist in the design and release of mechanical prototypes, support fabrication, and contribute to improvement efforts following evaluation
  </li>
  <li>
   Lead smaller projects independently, managing engineering efforts to meet requirements
  </li>
  <li>
   Work with production, supply chain, service, and other business areas to ensure designs meet organizational needs
  </li>

   Support product customization, lifecycle management, engineering change notices (ECN), and product optimization

  Basic Qualifications

   B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
  </li>
  <li>
   2+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience

  Preferred Qualifications

  <li>
   Knowledge of power protection equipment and datacenter markets
  </li>
  <li>
   Familiarity with electrical safety standards (UL, IEC) as applied to product offerings

   2+ years of SolidWorks CAD experience (thermal and structural evaluation)
  </li>
  <li>
   Experience with PLM software (a plus)
  </li>
  <li>
   Proficiency in sheet metal design, drawings, assemblies, and design for manufacturing
  </li>
  <li>
   Strong written and verbal communication skills, with technical writing experience a plus
  </li>
  <li>
   Ability to manage workload while contributing to a collaborative, team-oriented environment
  </li>
  <li>
   Experience with test fixtures, switchboards, PDUs, UL 891, and UL 508 panels (a plus)

The Role</b></div><div></div><div><br>
We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Designer (Contractor) to support design and development initiatives for mechanical systems and components. This role requires expertise in SolidWorks, strong knowledge of mechanical principles, and the ability to collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to deliver manufacturable, high-quality designs.</div>
<h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Responsibilities</b></h3><ul><li>
Develop 2D and 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using SolidWorks and similar software.</li><li>
Translate concepts, sketches, and specifications into manufacturable designs.</li><li>
Collaborate with engineers to refine designs and ensure compliance with requirements, standards, and safety regulations.</li><li>
Conduct tolerance analysis, material selection, and design-for-manufacturing (DFM) evaluations.</li><li>
Support prototype development, testing, and validation of components.</li><li>
Revise and update existing drawings and documentation as needed.</li><li>
Work with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure feasibility and quality of designs.</li><li>
Maintain accurate records, documentation, and version control of design files.</li><li>
Support product safety certifications with NRTL partners (UL, CSA, IEC).</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Basic Qualifications</b></h3><ul><li>
Associate&rsquo;s degree in Mechanical Design, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).</li><li>
Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D software.</li><li>
Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials, manufacturing processes, and GD&amp;T.</li><li>
Experience creating detailed assembly drawings and documentation.</li><li>
Ability to interpret engineering specifications and apply design standards.</li><li>
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and creativity.</li><li>
Effective communication and teamwork skills.</li><li>
Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems.</li><li>
Familiarity with sheet metal design, machining, plastics, or other manufacturing methods.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Preferred Qualifications</b></h3><ul><li>
Knowledge of finite element analysis (FEA) or simulation tools.</li><li>
Experience with UL, CSA, IEC electrical safety and EMC requirements related to power system design.</li></ul>
