Reading Power, Inc.Assistant Site CoordinatorJob DescriptionWorking in partnership with underserved schools, Reading Power provides one-to-one tutoring during the school day for children in preschool through second grade.Our mission is to accelerate children's literacy learning and to develop a love of reading and writing. The Assistant Site Coordinator will work closely with the Site Coordinator and report to the Director of Programs.Responsibilities include:<ul><li>Participate in staff training and monthly meetings</li><li>Participate in tutor training and events</li><li>Attend school literacy events</li><li>Prepare materials for tutoring</li><li>Help to maintain accurate records</li><li>Monitor student progress via assessments, student folders, and daily lesson plan</li><li>Organize classroom and resources for tutors</li><li>Tutor at least two students</li><li>Model tutoring and be a resource for tutors</li><li>Contribute to tutor meetings</li><li>Be prepared to step in for the site coordinator when necessary</li><li>Assist with classroom management</li><li>Assist with teacher, school, parent, and tutor communication</li><li>Serve as a Reading Power ambassador</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>College degree required</li><li>Experience working with children</li><li>Knowledge about early literacy preferred</li><li>Ability to work independently and take initiative</li><li>Strong organization and communication skills</li><li>Proficiency with technology and Google platforms</li><li>Passion for the organization and mission</li><li>Part-time position, 3 days/week, $23-25/hr</li></ul>Reading Power Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
