As we continue to grow, we are establishing a dedicated finance and accounting function based in our Plantation, FL office &mdash; and we are looking for the right person to lead it.The RoleWe are hiring an Accounting Manager to run Veritech&rsquo;s accounting function and grow it as the company scales. From day one, you will own the books &mdash; closing the month, paying vendors and contractors, managing cash, coordinating with our tax advisors, and giving leadership a clear picture of where the business stands financially.Because the function is being built out, you will also shape how it runs: refining systems, writing the policies, and eventually hiring the team that supports you. This role starts part-time and transitions to full-time as volume grows. It is well-suited to a hands-on accounting professional who wants both the operating responsibility and the room to build.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting Operations<ul><li>Own day-to-day accounting operations: general ledger, AP, AR, expense management, and payroll oversight.</li><li>Lead month-end and year-end close; deliver timely, accurate financial statements to leadership.</li><li>Manage cash flow, vendor payments, and contractor disbursements (multi-currency where applicable).</li><li>Maintain bank, credit card, and payment platform reconciliations on a current basis.</li><li>Keep organized, audit-ready records and documentation at all times.</li></ul>Tax, Compliance &amp; External Partners<ul><li>Coordinate with external CPA and tax advisors on federal, Florida, and multi-state filings.</li><li>Manage annual tax preparation and any audits or regulatory filings.</li><li>Ensure timely and accurate W2 and 1099 reporting in coordination with payroll providers.</li><li>Stay current on tax and compliance obligations relevant to a growing U.S. services business.</li></ul>Systems, Policies &amp; Controls<ul><li>Operate, refine, and where needed implement the accounting platform and supporting tools (e.g., QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Xero, Sage Intacct, or comparable).</li><li>Maintain and improve the chart of accounts, accounting policies, internal controls, and approval workflows.</li><li>Build dashboards and reporting that give leadership real visibility into financial performance.</li></ul>Team &amp; Cross-Functional<ul><li>Hire, onboard, and mentor additional accounting staff (clerks, AP/AR specialists) as volume grows.</li><li>Partner with HR and operations on payroll, benefits accounting, and contractor payment workflows.</li><li>Serve as the internal point of contact for finance-related questions across the organization.</li><li>Support contract review from a financial and operational perspective (payment terms, billing structure, revenue recognition).</li></ul>RequirementsMust-Have<ul><li>Experience: 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a senior or managerial capacity.</li><li>Build experience: Comfortable improving and shaping accounting systems and processes as the function grows &mdash; not only maintaining established ones.</li><li>Technical accounting: Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, full-cycle accounting, and multi-entity or multi-currency bookkeeping.</li><li>Systems: Hands-on experience implementing and administering at least one mainstream accounting platform (QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Xero, Sage Intacct, or similar).</li><li>Tax &amp; compliance familiarity: Working understanding of federal, Florida state, and multi-state tax obligations for U.S. businesses; ability to coordinate effectively with external CPAs and tax advisors.</li><li>Payroll oversight: Familiarity with U.S. payroll providers (Paylocity, Gusto, ADP, Rippling, Justworks, or similar) and W2 / 1099 reporting.</li><li>Communication: Excellent written and spoken English; able to translate financial information for non-finance audiences.</li><li>Work authorization: Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.</li><li>Location: Based in or near Plantation / Broward County, FL, and able to work on-site at our Plantation office.</li></ul>Highly Desirable<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.</li><li>Bilingual English / Spanish.</li><li>Experience in services, staffing, technology, or professional services industries.</li><li>Experience working with international contractors and cross-border payment workflows.</li><li>Prior experience hiring and managing a small accounting team.</li></ul>Core CompetenciesThe competencies below describe how we expect this role to operate day-to-day:Hands-On Operator<ul><li>Comfortable owning the close, the books, and the day-to-day work &mdash; not just supervising it.</li></ul>Technical Accounting<ul><li>Strong command of U.S. GAAP, multi-entity bookkeeping, and month-end close discipline.</li></ul>Systems Fluency<ul><li>Selects and configures accounting platforms thoughtfully; comfortable evaluating tools, integrations, and workflows.</li></ul>Process Design<ul><li>Writes clear policies and procedures that scale with the business and survive staff turnover.</li></ul>Ownership<ul><li>Takes full responsibility for the books, the calendar, and the numbers &mdash; no hand-holding required.</li></ul>Communication<ul><li>Explains financial information clearly to non-finance leaders and external partners alike.</li></ul>Discretion &amp; Integrity<ul><li>Handles sensitive financial and personnel data with absolute confidentiality and sound judgment.</li></ul>Hiring &amp; Mentorship<ul><li>Can identify, hire, and grow accounting staff as the function expands.</li></ul>Veritech Supply LLC is an equal opportunity employer.
