Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care by performing thorough dental cleanings, assisting with patient assessments, and supporting overall dental health initiatives. The ideal candidate is passionate about pediatric dentistry, possesses excellent communication skills, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.Responsibilities<ul><li>Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health.</li><li>Assist dentists during examinations and procedures with chairside assisting, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort.</li><li>Take and evaluate vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration to monitor patient health status.</li><li>Capture and interpret medical imaging, including X-rays, while maintaining strict infection control and aseptic techniques.</li><li>Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to foster long-term dental health habits.</li><li>Review medical records and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations.</li><li>Maintain detailed records of patient assessments, treatment plans, and procedural notes within electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.</li></ul>Skills<ul><li>Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and record management.</li><li>Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques.</li><li>Experience in pediatric dentistry and pediatrics-specific patient care approaches.</li><li>Skilled in chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency.</li><li>Ability to perform patient assessment including vital signs measurement and medical history review.</li><li>Familiarity with medical imaging procedures and interpretation relevant to dental diagnostics.</li><li>Understanding of HIPAA regulations for safeguarding patient privacy and confidentiality.</li><li>Excellent communication skills for explaining procedures clearly to patients of all ages.</li><li>Knowledge of general dentistry procedures, medical coding, and documentation review processes.
