Dental Hygienist

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team. Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health.
• Assist dentists during examinations and procedures with chairside assisting, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort.
• Take and evaluate vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration to monitor patient health status.
• Capture and interpret medical imaging, including X-rays, while maintaining strict infection control and aseptic techniques.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to foster long-term dental health habits.
• Review medical records and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Maintain detailed records of patient assessments, treatment plans, and procedural notes within electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.

Skills

• Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and record management.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques.
• Experience in pediatric dentistry and pediatrics-specific patient care approaches.
• Skilled in chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency.
• Ability to perform patient assessment including vital signs measurement and medical history review.
• Familiarity with medical imaging procedures and interpretation relevant to dental diagnostics.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations for safeguarding patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining procedures clearly to patients of all ages.
