Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health.
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures with chairside assisting, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort.
- Take and evaluate vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration to monitor patient health status.
- Capture and interpret medical imaging, including X-rays, while maintaining strict infection control and aseptic techniques.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to foster long-term dental health habits.
- Review medical records and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain detailed records of patient assessments, treatment plans, and procedural notes within electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
Skills
- Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and record management.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques.
- Experience in pediatric dentistry and pediatrics-specific patient care approaches.
- Skilled in chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency.
- Ability to perform patient assessment including vital signs measurement and medical history review.
- Familiarity with medical imaging procedures and interpretation relevant to dental diagnostics.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations for safeguarding patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills for explaining procedures clearly to patients of all ages.
