Job Overview Retina Specialists of Mississippi is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Ophthalmic Technician to join our dynamic team. This role involves performing ophthalmic procedures under the direction and/or supervision of an ophthalmologist, conducting patient screenings, diagnostic testing, patient education, and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate is a team player with a passion for excellent patient care, strong communication skills, and proficiency with technology.Duties<ul><li>Obtain and update detailed patient medical histories in an electronic medical record.</li><li>Perform diagnostic tests, including visual acuity, eye pressure measurements, visual field examinations, and other ocular assessments.</li><li>Administer topical ophthalmic medications, such as dilation eye drops, as directed by the ophthalmologist.</li><li>Assist physicians during examinations and ophthalmic procedures.</li><li>Conduct diagnostic imaging and prepare patients for physician consultations.</li><li>Provide patient education on home care.</li><li>Perform administrative duties, such as managing correspondence.</li><li>Perform scribing duties to document patient encounters accurately.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>High school diploma required.</li><li>Some college education preferred.</li><li>Graduate of an accredited ophthalmic program or two (2) years of related experience preferred.</li><li>Phlebotomy certification preferred.</li><li>Previous medical office experience is a plus.</li></ul>Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities<ul><li>Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, ocular anatomy, ophthalmic pharmacology, and eye diseases.</li><li>Proficiency in diagnostic and treatment procedures.</li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail.</li><li>Ability to operate ophthalmic equipment and administer preliminary screening examinations.</li><li>Comfortable using laptop and desktop computers, iPads, and electronic medical record systems.</li><li>Compassionate, polite, and kind demeanor with a desire to help others.</li><li>Reliable, well-spoken, and an active listener.</li></ul>Join our team as an Ophthalmic Technician and contribute to improving the vision health of our community while developing your professional skills in a supportive environment.Job Type: Full-timePay: From $14.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Application Question(s):<ul><li>Are you willing to undergo a background check, in accordance with local law and regulations?</li><li>Do you have the following license or certifications: COA, COT, or COMT?</li><li>Do you have experience in a clinical setting?</li><li>If the answer to previous question is &quot;Yes&quot;, please provide the name of the clinic in which you worked.</li></ul>Work Location: In person
