Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk/Administrative Assistant to join our finance team. This role offers a unique opportunity to support both accounting operations and administrative functions within a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be energized by managing financial data, ensuring accuracy in record-keeping, and providing exceptional administrative support to facilitate seamless business processes. Your expertise will help uphold compliance standards such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), while utilizing advanced financial software tools to enhance efficiency.Duties<ul><li>Perform data entry and maintain accurate records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Workday.</li><li>Assist with accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely invoice processing and payment reconciliation.</li><li>Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and general ledger entries to ensure financial accuracy.</li><li>Support payroll management activities using systems like ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or UltiPro, including processing payroll and verifying employee hours.</li><li>Prepare journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and assist with month-end closing procedures in accordance with GAAP standards.</li><li>Manage administrative tasks such as filing, correspondence, scheduling meetings, and supporting internal audits or compliance reviews.</li><li>Collaborate with the finance team on budgeting, tax preparation, and financial reporting activities for governmental or non-profit accounting environments.</li></ul>Experience<ul><li>Proven experience in corporate accounting or governmental accounting environments with a strong understanding of financial concepts.</li><li>Hands-on experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar platforms.</li><li>Familiarity with payroll systems including ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or UltiPro is highly desirable.</li><li>Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements and technical accounting principles is a plus.</li><li>Strong skills in data entry, double-entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and balance sheet analysis.</li><li>Basic proficiency in math and financial analysis techniques such as credit analysis and budgeting.</li><li>Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
