Job Requirements/Responsibilities:

In this position, you won't just be \&quot;doing the books.\&quot; You&rsquo;ll be the financial backbone of our projects, ensuring every nail is accounted for and every crew member is paid accurately. You&rsquo;ll work closely with management to provide the data they need to strategically grow the company and meet production goals profitably.
<ul>
<li>Accounts Payable &amp; Reconciliation:</li>
<li><ul><li>Complete data entry for vendor and company overhead invoices</li>
<li>Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, loan statements, and credit cards.</li>
<li>Perform weekly reconciliations of major vendor credit accounts.</li>
<li>Prepare accurate weekly Accounts Payable report for management.</li>
</ul></li><li>Job Costing &amp; Analysis:</li>
<li><ul><li>Prepare and analyze detailed job costing reports for every completed project.</li>
<li>Compare job costs against estimates to help identify variances and improve future bidding.</li>
</ul></li><li>Certified Payroll &amp; Compliance:</li>
<li><ul><li>Prepare bi-weekly payroll.</li>
<li>Ensure strict compliance with California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) standards as applicable.</li>
<li>Submit timely CPR reports via LCPtracker, Elations, DIR or similar labor compliance software as required by each client.</li>
</ul></li><li>Financial Reporting:</li>
<li><ul><li>Prepare month-end closing reports</li>
<li>Provide documentation to CPA for annual audits and tax returns.</li>
<li>Provide regular, accurate financial reports to management as requested, including EBITDA analysis.</li>
</ul></li>
</ul>Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>At least 2&ndash;3 years of accounting experience specifically within the construction industry. Must possess a strong theoretical foundation in accounting (debits/credits, accrual vs. cash basis) beyond software-specific workflows.</li>
<li>Candidate must be able to demonstrate an understanding of financial statement preparation and the general ledger cycle. Applicants with solely &ldquo;on the job&rdquo; training need not apply.</li>
<li>Possess solid understanding of California Prevailing Wage laws and certified payroll reporting requirements.</li>
<li>Proficiency in Quickbooks, advanced Excel skills, CPR reporting platforms (Elations, LCP Tracker, CA DIR).</li>
<li>Be organized, comfortable with deadlines, and detail-oriented.</li>
<li>Possess communication skills to effectively interact with project management staff and executive leadership.</li>
</ul>
Applicant will be expected to work in person at our downtown San Leandro office.

Compensation is $28-$50 per hour, commensurate with experience. This position can be part-time, full-time or in between, depending on experience. We are an equal opportunity employer.
