This position offers an energetic environment where your skills in medical terminology, office procedures, and insurance verification will make a tangible difference in patient outcomes.Duties<ul><li>Coordinate patient referrals between healthcare providers, specialists, and facilities to ensure timely appointments and follow-ups</li><li>Verify insurance coverage and benefits through managed care systems to facilitate smooth referral approvals</li><li>Manage medical records, including retrieval, organization, and secure handling in compliance with HIPAA regulations</li><li>Utilize CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD (International Classification of Diseases), and ICD coding to accurately document diagnoses and procedures</li><li>Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and insurance companies to resolve referral issues or discrepancies</li><li>Maintain detailed logs of referral activities, appointment schedules, and correspondence for audit readiness</li><li>Ensure all documentation adheres to medical terminology standards and office protocols for accuracy and confidentiality</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with familiarity in medical records management</li><li>Strong knowledge of managed care processes, insurance verification, and healthcare billing procedures</li><li>Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient privacy at all times</li><li>Proficiency in CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems, and medical terminology for precise documentation</li><li>Experience with medical coding practices related to referrals and diagnoses</li><li>Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously</li><li>Prior dental or medical office experience is a plus but not mandatory; a proactive attitude is essential</li></ul>Join us if you're passionate about improving healthcare delivery through efficient referral management!
