This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in medical administration within a fast-paced, patient-centered setting.Duties<ul><li>Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing exceptional customer service and guiding them through check-in procedures.</li><li>Schedule appointments efficiently using electronic health record (EHR) system.</li><li>Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance authorization and verification processes.</li><li>Manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.</li><li>Maintain accurate medical records by filing documents, updating patient information, and reviewing documentation for completeness and accuracy.</li><li>Assist with medical billing and collections, including processing payments and following up on outstanding balances.</li><li>Support clinical staff with administrative tasks such as preparing care plans, reviewing documentation, and managing medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Prior experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting, preferably in clinics or dental offices with medical terminology familiarity.</li><li>Proficiency with EMR/EHR system terminology is a plus.</li><li>Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.</li><li>Familiarity with CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding systems for medical billing and documentation review.</li><li>Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).</li><li>Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively.</li><li>Exceptional organizational skills combined with clerical experience such as filing, data entry, and office management.</li><li>Ability to handle high-volume phone calls while maintaining professionalism and courtesy in all interactions.</li><li>Knowledge of insurance verification processes for Medicare or other insurance providers is advantageous.</li></ul>This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to contribute to quality patient care through efficient administrative support.
