Job SummaryThe Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating daily delivery operations, supporting drivers in real-time, and ensuring efficient route execution. This role acts as the central communication hub between drivers, management, and Amazon systems to maintain on-time performance, safety compliance, and high customer satisfaction.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Monitor driver progress throughout the day using Amazon routing and dispatch systems (e.g., Cortex, Flex app).</li><li>Provide real-time support to drivers, including route guidance, troubleshooting delivery issues, and handling delays.</li><li>Communicate effectively with drivers via phone, text, or dispatch software to ensure adherence to schedules.</li><li>Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time departures, delivery completion rates, and rescue needs.</li><li>Coordinate and deploy &ldquo;rescues&rdquo; (driver-to-driver assistance) when necessary to ensure route completion.</li><li>Respond to and resolve delivery exceptions, including access issues, missing packages, or customer concerns.</li><li>Maintain accurate logs of driver activity, incidents, and route adjustments.</li><li>Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and Amazon operational procedures.</li><li>Assist with pre-dispatch and post-route activities, including driver check-in/check-out.</li><li>Escalate significant issues to management promptly.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent (required)</li><li>Prior dispatch, logistics, or delivery experience preferred</li><li>Strong communication and problem-solving skills</li><li>Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Basic computer skills and familiarity with GPS/navigation systems</li><li>Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions</li><li>Availability to work weekends and flexible shifts</li></ul>Preferred Skills<ul><li>Experience with Amazon DSP systems (Cortex, Flex)</li><li>Knowledge of last-mile delivery operations</li><li>Strong organizational and time-management abilities</li><li>Leadership or team coordination experience</li></ul>Working ConditionsFast-paced, high-pressure environment. Frequent communication with drivers and management throughout the shift. May require early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.Physical RequirementsPrimarily sedentary with occasional movement around the station.
