Amazon DSP Dispatcher

Job Summary

The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating daily delivery operations, supporting drivers in real-time, and ensuring efficient route execution. This role acts as the central communication hub between drivers, management, and Amazon systems to maintain on-time performance, safety compliance, and high customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor driver progress throughout the day using Amazon routing and dispatch systems (e.g., Cortex, Flex app).
  • Provide real-time support to drivers, including route guidance, troubleshooting delivery issues, and handling delays.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers via phone, text, or dispatch software to ensure adherence to schedules.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time departures, delivery completion rates, and rescue needs.
  • Coordinate and deploy “rescues” (driver-to-driver assistance) when necessary to ensure route completion.
  • Respond to and resolve delivery exceptions, including access issues, missing packages, or customer concerns.
  • Maintain accurate logs of driver activity, incidents, and route adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and Amazon operational procedures.
  • Assist with pre-dispatch and post-route activities, including driver check-in/check-out.
  • Escalate significant issues to management promptly.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Prior dispatch, logistics, or delivery experience preferred
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with GPS/navigation systems
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions
  • Availability to work weekends and flexible shifts

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Amazon DSP systems (Cortex, Flex)
  • Knowledge of last-mile delivery operations
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities
  • Leadership or team coordination experience

Working Conditions

Fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Frequent communication with drivers and management throughout the shift. May require early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

Primarily sedentary with occasional movement around the station. Ability to work at a computer or dispatch station for extended periods.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
