The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office is seeking applicants to join our Full-Time /Part-Time 911 Telecommunicator team. The dispatch center for the County of Jasper handles emergency and non-emergency calls for law enforcement, fire, and EMS. Telecommunicators are also responsible for answering and processing non-emergency and 911 emergency calls, gathering information to provide to the correct department, documenting and maintaining data, and using multiple computerized radio/computer programs.

Ideal Candidates will have:

-The ability to multitask.

-The ability to remain calm in stressful and emergency situations.

-The desire to help others.

-Must be able to work: days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Qualifications:

-At least 21 years of age.

-High School Diploma or GED.

-Keyboarding skills.

-Communication skills.

-Valid Driver’s License.

-Ability to pass background check.

Benefits:

-Starting Wage $21.47 with longevity increases for full time / $20.00 for part time with possibility for full time position.

Full Time benefits:

-Possibility for lateral transfer for experienced applicants.

-Two weeks paid vacation after 1 year.

-1 Sick Day accumulated per month.

-3 Personal days per year.

-Ability to accumulate comp time.
