<div><p><b>Definition</b><br>
Under general direction, to plan, organize, coordinate, and direct the work of a section of the court to provide administrative staff support to judicial officers; to direct the work of staff; to perform related duties as assigned.<br>
<br>
<b>Distinguishing Characteristics</b><br>
Operations Manager is a management level class responsible for directing the work of an assigned section of the Court. Operations Manager is distinguished from Director of Operations, which is responsible for managing a major division of the Court and providing management oversight of assigned facility, where applicable. This class typically reports to a Director of Operations. Operations Manager differs from the lower class of Operations Supervisor, which is responsible for supervising staff in an assigned unit of the Court.</p></div>
<div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Examples of Duties</b></h2></div>
<div><p>(Note: The following duties are performed by most incumbents, but other related duties may also be performed; not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual.)<br>
<br>
1. Plans, organizes, coordinates, and directs the work of an assigned section of the Court.<br>
<br>
2. Assists in the development and implementation of organizational goals, objectives, values, and policies; develops and implements procedures and work standards for the section.<br>
<br>
3. Coordinates section activities with other Court sections and divisions, outside agencies, and concerned parties.<br>
<br>
4. Prepares and recommends long and short-term plans for assigned services and programs; assists in budget planning and administration.<br>
<br>
5. Monitors and evaluates program services; develops specific proposals to meet identified goals and needs.<br>
<br>
6. Resolves difficult problems related to section activities and functions.<br>
<br>
7. Represents the section within the Court, with outside agencies, and concerned parties.<br>
<br>
8. Interprets complex codes, regulations, policies, and procedures and provides guidance and assistance for staff and the public.<br>
<br>
9. Directs the preparation of a wide variety of records and reports regarding section activities.<br>
<br>
10. Directs the development of management systems, procedures, and standards for assigned section.<br>
<br>
11. Monitors legislative developments, evaluates their impact on service area, and develops recommendations to ensure compliance and effective service delivery.<br>
<br>
12. Provides administrative staff support for judicial officers as required.<br>
<br>
13. Supervises and evaluates subordinate supervisors; participates in and recommends staff selection, promotions, and disciplinary actions; evaluates needs for and requests specialized training for supervisors and staff.</p></div>
<div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Minimum Qualifications</b></h2></div>
<div><p>A typical way of obtaining the required knowledge and abilities is equivalent to:<br>

<b>Either I</b><br>
<br>
Experience: Five (5) years of progressively responsible legal clerical experience which includes two (2) years of supervisory experience.<br>
<br>
<b>Or II</b><br>
<br>
Experience: Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in a variety of administrative areas which includes two (2) years of supervisory experience.<br>
<br>
<b>Knowledge of:</b><br>
<br>
Administrative principles and methods including goal setting, program development and implementation, and employee supervision; applicable legal guidelines and standards governing the administration of assigned service area; organization, function, and operation of the Superior Court system; legal terminology; basic budgetary principles; relevant codes, policies, procedures, and processes; data processing systems and applications related to the work; record-keeping principles and practices.<br>
<br>
<b>Ability to:</b><br>
<br>
Plan, organize, administer, and coordinate a variety of court programs and services within the section assigned; direct and evaluate the work of staff; develop and implement goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and work standards; select, motivate, and evaluate staff and provide for their training and development; analyze complex technical and administrative problems, evaluate alternatives and adopt effective courses of action; prepare clear and concise reports, correspondence, and other written materials; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those encountered in the course of the work; exercise sound, independent judgment within general policy guidelines.<br>
<br>
<b>DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS</b><br>
<br>
Possession of a bachelors degree in business or public administration or a related field is desirable.</p></div>

<div><p><b>Typical Physical Requirements</b><br>
Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; lift and move objects weighing up to 25 lbs.; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment, including computer, telephone, calculator, copiers, and fax.<br>
<br>
<b>Typical Working Conditions</b><br>
Work is performed in an office environment; continuous contact with other staff and the public.<br>
<br>
<b>Other Requirements</b><br>
