Job description- Business Office ManagerResponsible for overall financial functions and controls within the facility business office. This employee focuses primarily on maximizing cash flow through efficient billing and collection processes.Schedule:<ul><li>8-hour shift</li><li>Monday to Friday</li></ul>Education:<ul><li>Associates required or 5 years of experience in this role.</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>PCC (Required)</li><li>Medical Billing: 3 years (Required)</li><li>Medicare/ Medicaid Billing: 3 years (Required)</li><li>Skilled Nursing Facility: (Required)</li></ul>REPORTS TO:CEO/AdministratorSUPERVISES:YesQUALIFICATIONS:<ul><li>Minimum of associate degree in business.</li><li>Minimum of three (3) years&rsquo; experience in third party billing/collections, with at least one (1) year experience in a supervisory capacity required.</li><li>Good working knowledge of and ability to demonstrate skills related to all systems and procedures.</li><li>Basic computer and accounting skills and the ability to apply that knowledge.</li><li>Ability to prioritize duties and multiple responsibilities.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li></ul>RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>Establish controls to assure accuracy and timeliness of month-end close information.</li><li>Monitor and intervene as needed to expedite billing and collection procedures to maximize revenue and cash flow.</li><li>Assist staff to process problem accounts.</li><li>Establish and maintain positive relationships with appropriate long-term care offices to assure correction of any problems that occur.</li><li>Analyze collections on a monthly basis. Assess level of bad debt reserves and recommend write-offs.</li><li>Maintain accurate records to assure compliance with state and federal requirements.</li><li>Review monthly financial statements and communicate issues/concerns to appropriate facility and corporate staff.</li><li>Meet regularly with direct report staff to provide supervision and assure open communication.</li><li>Identify areas of necessary training for assigned staff and arrange for this training to take place.</li><li>Attend and participate in facility meetings as required.</li><li>Participate in the facility quality improvement process.</li><li>Access continuing education opportunities appropriate to responsibilities.</li><li>Prepare and submit reports to the administrator on areas of responsibility, as required.</li><li>Every employee is required to abide by the Standards of Conduct and to report any activity that appears to violate the Standards of Conduct.</li><li>As an employee, I agree to perform my duties in a way that supports the values and mission of Salemhaven and the standards of conduct which are the basis of the organizational integrity program.</li><li>Supervises reception staff to ensure points of contact with customers exceed expectations.</li><li>Perform other duties, as assigned.</li></ul>This job description does not list all duties of the job.
