Job description- Business Office Manager
Responsible for overall financial functions and controls within the facility business office. This employee focuses primarily on maximizing cash flow through efficient billing and collection processes.
Schedule:
- 8-hour shift
- Monday to Friday
Education:
- Associates required or 5 years of experience in this role.
Experience:
- PCC (Required)
- Medical Billing: 3 years (Required)
- Medicare/ Medicaid Billing: 3 years (Required)
- Skilled Nursing Facility: (Required)

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of associate degree in business.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in third party billing/collections, with at least one (1) year experience in a supervisory capacity required.
- Good working knowledge of and ability to demonstrate skills related to all systems and procedures.
- Basic computer and accounting skills and the ability to apply that knowledge.
- Ability to prioritize duties and multiple responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish controls to assure accuracy and timeliness of month-end close information.
- Monitor and intervene as needed to expedite billing and collection procedures to maximize revenue and cash flow.
- Assist staff to process problem accounts.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with appropriate long-term care offices to assure correction of any problems that occur.
- Analyze collections on a monthly basis. Assess level of bad debt reserves and recommend write-offs.
- Maintain accurate records to assure compliance with state and federal requirements.
- Review monthly financial statements and communicate issues/concerns to appropriate facility and corporate staff.
- Meet regularly with direct report staff to provide supervision and assure open communication.
- Identify areas of necessary training for assigned staff and arrange for this training to take place.
- Attend and participate in facility meetings as required.
- Participate in the facility quality improvement process.
- Access continuing education opportunities appropriate to responsibilities.
- Prepare and submit reports to the administrator on areas of responsibility, as required.

- Supervises reception staff to ensure points of contact with customers exceed expectations.
