Job Summary
The Certified Medical Assistant will utilize their expertise to make a significant impact in both clinical and administrative roles. In this position, they will perform various tasks, ranging from assisting with patient care and advanced procedures under the direction of a licensed Independent Provider (LIP) to ensuring smooth office operations. As a certified professional, the Medical Assistant&rsquo;s skills will enable them to perform clinical and administrative duties with high competence, contributing to superior patient care and clinic efficiency.

Clinical Duties:<ul><li>
Patient Preparation and Assistance<ul><li>
Assist in preparing patients for examinations and procedures by taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and providing reassurance.</li><li>
Support healthcare providers during patient exams by preparing exam rooms, organizing instruments, and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.</li></ul></li><li>
Independent Clinical Tasks:<ul><li>
Perform blood draws (venipunctures or capillary punctures), administer injections and vaccines, and assist with minor procedures as ordered by the LIP.</li><li>
Administer oral, topical, sublingual, or injectable medications per LIP&rsquo;s orders and within the medical assistant scope of practice.</li><li>
Clean, dress, and bandage superficial wounds and assist in routine clinical tasks like CLIA-waived tests.</li><li>
Conduct regular quality control tests to ensure the accuracy of lab results and proper lab equipment functioning.</li></ul></li></ul>
<ul><li>Sterilization and Infection Control:<ul><li>
Follow proper procedures for labeling, handling, and transporting specimens to ensure accuracy and avoid contamination.</li><li>
Maintain aseptic techniques during clinical procedures to prevent infections.</li><li>
Sterilize medical instruments using autoclaves or other sterilization methods and disinfect exam rooms and equipment after each patient encounter.</li><li>
Use appropriate PPE (gloves, masks, gowns) to minimize the risk of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).</li><li>
Ensure that biohazardous waste is disposed of according to protocol.</li></ul></li><li>
Emergency Response and Patient Care:<ul><li>
Provide basic first aid and assist with medical emergencies as per Basic Life Support (BLS) standards.</li><li>
Demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity when delivering patient care.</li></ul></li><li>
Age-Specific Care:<ul><li>
Provide age-appropriate care and understanding for patients from newborns to elderly individuals.</li><li>
Utilize age-specific techniques (e.g., distraction, comfort positions) to reduce discomfort and anxiety during procedures, particularly with pediatric patients.</li></ul></li><li>
Pediatric-Specific Duties:<ul><li>
Measure and record vital signs, growth parameters, and assist pediatricians during exams and routine procedures.</li><li>
Administer vaccines per pediatric immunization schedules and assist with specimen collection for lab testing.</li><li>
Ensure readiness of emergency equipment in pediatric settings and respond to medical emergencies involving children.</li></ul></li></ul>
Administrative Duties:<ul><li>
Medical Record Management:<ul><li>
Ensure accurate and up-to-date patient records by entering data, filing documents, and managing electronic health records (EHR) systems.</li><li>
Safeguard patient confidentiality and maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations.</li></ul></li><li>
Office Support:<ul><li>
Manage general office tasks, including answering phones, organizing medical supplies, and maintaining inventory.</li><li>
Assist with billing, coding, and insurance claims processing as guided by experienced staff.</li><li>
Perform pre-visit planning to gather relevant patient information for upcoming appointments.</li></ul></li><li>
Follow-up and Documentation:<ul><li>
Provide timely responses to telephone encounters and patient inquiries.</li><li>
Complete documentation for urgent care follow-ups, communicable disease reporting, and hospital transfers.</li><li>
Facilitate patient coordination for pre-op clearance, medication authorizations, and referrals.</li></ul></li><li>
Patient Scheduling and Coordination:<ul><li>
Schedule patient appointments, confirm and verify patient details, and assist with urgent care patient follow-up calls.</li><li>
Prepare informed consent documents and coordinate the transmission of lab specimens (e.g., Cologuard, blood tests).</li></ul></li></ul>
Required Education<ul><li>
High school diploma or equivalent.
</li><li>Completion of an accredited medical assisting program.
</li></ul>Required Experience<ul><li>
One (1+) year of experience in the healthcare field.</li></ul>
Required Licenses and Certifications<ul><li>
Active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through the American Medical Technologists (AMT).</li><li>
Active Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification &ndash; Accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA).</li></ul>

Candidates with prior Certified Medical Assistant experience (at least 2+ years) are preferred.</li><li>

<div>Job Summary
The Medical Director is responsible for the coordination and oversight of all medical care and quality of services provided at the center level. They ensure proper functioning of day&ndash;to-day operations of the facility, in coordination with clinic staff, to provide consistent quality of care to patients. This role also provides delivery of medical services to patients of the center. The Medical Director oversees the activities of group providers, analyzes results and provides feedback.

Handles provider behavior and impairment issues.
</li><li>Analyzes, manages and develops improvement plans for adverse events as well as patient complaints/issues that arise from medical care.</li><li>
Leads physician governance committees to include Medical Records Quality Committee, Infection Diseases Committee, and Adverse Events Committee.
</li><li>Participate and lead in future development projects for the organization.</li><li>
Deliver direct patient care within the clinic scope of practice.</li><li>
Perform other duties as assigned by the executive team.</li></ul>
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.
Required Education<ul><li>
MD or DO degree from an accredited school of medicine.</li></ul>
Required Experience<ul><li>
At least 2 years of experience as a primary care physician and 1 year as a Medical Director.</li><li>
At least 2 years of experience working with a multicultural patient population delivering patient-centric programs that are high quality and cost effective.</li></ul>
Required Licenses and Certifications<ul><li>
Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the selected state.</li><li>
Board certified in one of the primary care specialties.</li></ul>
