 POSITION SUMMARY:
 
 
 To perform daily cleaning and supplying of patient rooms, nursing stations, lounges, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, bathrooms, elevators, stairwells in a clean and sanitary manner in accordance with the standard housekeeping procedures. Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner in order to reflect the highest integrity of the Environmental Services Department. Participates in the department&rsquo;s performance improvement activities.
 
 
 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS &amp; ABILITIES:
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Must be able to read, write, and follow directives.
 </li>
 <li>
 Completion of high school is desired educational requirement.
 </li>
 <li>
 Previous experience desirable but not required.
 </li>
 <li>
 Must, after brief training, be able to demonstrate correct use of chemicals, supplies, and assigned tools. One week to three months on-the-job training. Must be able to maintain awareness and judgment to input information into the Bed Turn-Over computer system.

 </ul>
 WORKING CONDITIONS- ADA INFORMATION:
 
 
 Comfortable routine working conditions with the possibility of irregular schedule including weekends. Exposure to certain levels of stress. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Exposed to hazard of burns and cuts due to working with hot equipment. Constant standing or walking with regular periods of concentration.

POSITION SUMMARY<ul><li>
Provides personal care and assists with ADLs</li><li>
 Assists RNs &amp; LPNs with patient care procedures.</li><li>
 Performs and assists with procedures.</li><li>
Assists with equipment/supply maintenance</li><li>
Performs complex clerical duties.</li><li>
All competencies listed may not be implemented in every nursing unit due to variation of services provided.</li></ul>
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS &amp; ABILITIES<ul><li>
 High School Graduate or equivalent preferred.</li><li>
Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.</li><li>
Six months of relevant patient care experience preferred.</li><li>
Phlebotomy and/or Medical Assistant experience preferred.</li><li>
Graduate of PCT course strongly preferred.</li><li>
Current Healthcare Provider CPR Certification preferred.</li><li>
General office skills and medical terminology preferred.</li><li>

WORKING CONDITIONS - ADA INFORMATION
Works primarily in moderate to fast-paces hospital setting. Generally assigned to consistent shift and unit but may be required to be temporarily re-assigned to meet organizational needs. Requires moderate to frequent lifting (excess of 50 lbs), bending, and assisting in same, using correct techniques. Requires extensive walking during shift. Likely to be exposed to blood and body fluids and infectious diseases on a daily basis. Uses general office equipment in performance of duties, including but not limited to computers, computerized lab equipment, printers, fax, telephone &amp; nurse call systems. Interacts daily with persons under stress, having complex complaints, and/or with whom there is a need to respond to questions, problems, or gain cooperation. Physical functional capacity for healthcare workers as defined by the Saunders Method (very heavy).

JOB LOCATION : Main Campus
DEPARTMENT: PHLEBOTOMY 
SCHEDULE: Full Time, 8 HR Day Shift, 3a-11:30a with rotating weekends
POSITION SUMMARY:
Obtain and process specimens from inpatients and outpatients according to SGMC Health laboratory policy/procedures using correct and strict patient identification and in sufficient sample quantity for the performance of laboratory tests as ordered by the physician. Exposure to biohazardous specimens and/or patients, needles, standard medical equipment to perform phlebotomy is required. Responsible for accurate entry of laboratory requests, patient demographics, and billing information using the hospital&rsquo;s Lab system and HBOC system. Is a Public Relations representative from the Laboratory to the Laboratory's customers. Perform various other non-routine departmental support activities as directed by Supervisor. Transport patient specimens of UN3373 / Category B type from outpatient customers to the Laboratory, using SGMC Health Lab vehicles. Will NOT transport UN 2814 or UN 2900 samples or narcotics.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS &amp; ABILITIES: 
<ul><li>
High school graduate or GED preferred.</li><li>
Prior experience in phlebotomy or medical assistance training preferred, certified training in phlebotomy preferred.</li><li>
Current in CPR certification.</li><li>
Competence in phlebotomy, general office skills, and medical terminology.</li><li>
Demonstrate manual dexterity, specifically hand-eye coordination.</li><li>
Demonstrate accuracy, and attention to detail in performing data entry.</li><li>
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, but frequent walking is also required.</li><li>
Effective communication skills in dealing with the public, physicians and other hospital staff are required.</li><li>
Temperament suited to short cycle repetitive work.</li><li>
Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide phlebotomy for laboratory testing appropriate to the age of the patients seen in their assigned area.</li><li>
Must be able to assess and interpret data or signs about the patient&rsquo;s status in order to identify each patient&rsquo;s age specific needs and provide the care needed by our patient groups (i.e., neonate, pediatric, adolescent and/or geriatric).</li><li>
Normal color vision necessary.</li><li>
Must possess a valid and current driver&rsquo;s license.</li></ul>
WORKING CONDITIONS- ADA INFORMATION:
Modern hospital Laboratories with access to patient areas and physician offices. Work activities will include: light lifting (not to exceed 25 pounds), walking, sitting, standing, stooping, bending, twisting, and pushing objects. Must be about to operate office equipment, computer terminals and keyboards, computerized lab equipment and an automobile. Must be able / certified to perform CPR.
