Responsibilities include:<ul><li>Create, revise and format legal documents, spreadsheets and presentations, adhering to Firm policy and guidelines.</li><li>Proofread work for accuracy prior to routing or returning to attorneys/employees.</li><li>Provide administrative support to attorneys and paralegals as requested, including answering phones, scanning, PDF'ing documents, printing, copying, faxing and other clerical duties as required.</li><li>Uphold a professional demeanor at all times. Demonstrate an attitude of cooperation with legal staff, peers and administrators.</li><li>Maintain calendars of all assigned attorneys and schedule meetings for attorneys within parameters of attorneys' requirements.</li><li>Remind attorneys of deadlines for filings, Federal Express packages, etc.</li><li>Maintain contact lists for client matters.</li><li>Attend will signings as a witness; Attend meetings as a notary.</li><li>Organize and maintain electronic client files (primarily digital) and keep filing up-to-date;</li><li>Provide coverage to other attorneys in section when assigned administrative assistants are out of office or when workflow requires/permits.</li><li>Weekly inventory of supplies and office needs</li></ul>Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:<ul><li>Administrative Assistant or Secretarial T &amp; E experience (3 years +)</li><li>Ability to function effectively; exhibit professional maturity.</li><li>Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.</li><li>Ability to problem solve and arrange workload in order of importance to meet deadlines.</li><li>Ability to work effectively within a team and independently, as workflow dictates.</li><li>Advanced Microsoft Word 365 skills including formatting, Styles, TOA and TOC.</li><li>Advanced Word, [Excel and Powerpoint helpful but not necessary].</li><li>Proficiency with Outlook / Net Docs a plus</li><li>Ability to learn and effectively apply new software as required.</li><li>Ability to maintain reliable attendance record and punctuality.</li><li>Typing skills of 60+ wpm; excellent spelling, grammar and proofreading skills.</li><li>Ability to meet Firm client service standards by maintaining a positive and professional attitude as well as communicate effectively with all levels of the organization as well as external clients, vendors and the general public.</li><li>Exhibit a desire to team with support staff, peers, attorneys and administrators by demonstrating willingness to undertake additional responsibilities, teach and assist others when requested.</li></ul>Job Type: Full timeNew York City officeMonday through Friday, 9:00 AM &ndash; 5:00 PM OrMonday through Thursday 8:30 &ndash; 5:30 PM (with benefits)Sherman Atlas Sylvester &amp; Stamelman is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate based on protected characteristics, such as race, creed, color, national origin, ancestry, age, sex, religion, etc.Job Types: Full TimeWork Location: In personJob Type: Full-timePay: $74,000.00 - $85,000.00 per yearWork Location: In person
