Overview Sightline Ophthalmic Associates is a successful private practice that consists of 3 Ophthalmologists and 5 Optometrists with an extensive referral base with locations in Wexford, Chippewa, Kittanning and New Castle. Sightline has a rewarding full-time opportunity for a Medical Biller in our Wexford location. The ideal Medical Biller candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating timely collections. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the ability to work effectively within a medical office environment.Responsibilities<ul><li>Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies and government programs.</li><li>Utilize coding systems such as ICD-10 for accurate billing.</li><li>Review and verify patient information and medical records for completeness.</li><li>Perform medical collection duties, following up on unpaid claims and resolving discrepancies.</li><li>Maintain up-to-date knowledge of billing regulations, coding updates, and compliance requirements.</li><li>Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses and procedures as needed.</li><li>Ensure adherence to confidentiality standards in handling patient information.</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Proven experience in a medical office setting with a focus on billing and coding.</li><li>Proficiency in medical coding systems, including ICD-10, ICD-9, DRG, and medical terminology.</li><li>Strong understanding of medical records management and insurance processes.</li><li>Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.</li><li>Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is preferred.</li><li>Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, providers, and insurance representatives.</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>Medical office: 1 year (Required)</li><li>Medical billing: 1 year (Required)</li><li>Insurance verification: 1 year (Preferred)</li></ul>Ability to Commute:<ul><li>Wexford, PA 15090 (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
