Medical Biller

Overview
Sightline Ophthalmic Associates is a successful private practice that consists of 3 Ophthalmologists and 5 Optometrists with an extensive referral base with locations in Wexford, Chippewa, Kittanning and New Castle. Sightline has a rewarding full-time opportunity for a Medical Biller in our Wexford location. The ideal Medical Biller candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating timely collections. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the ability to work effectively within a medical office environment.

Responsibilities

• Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies and government programs.
• Utilize coding systems such as ICD-10 for accurate billing.
• Review and verify patient information and medical records for completeness.
• Perform medical collection duties, following up on unpaid claims and resolving discrepancies.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of billing regulations, coding updates, and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses and procedures as needed.
• Ensure adherence to confidentiality standards in handling patient information.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a medical office setting with a focus on billing and coding.
• Proficiency in medical coding systems, including ICD-10, ICD-9, DRG, and medical terminology.
• Strong understanding of medical records management and insurance processes.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is preferred.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, providers, and insurance representatives.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
