Job Summary Join our dynamic ophthalmology team as an Ophthalmic Assistant / Technician, where you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional eye care. If you're passionate about eye health and eager to grow your skills in a fast-paced environment, this opportunity is perfect for you!Responsibilities<ul><li>Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and conduct intake procedures to gather relevant medical history</li><li>Perform patient pre-testing (auto-refraction, OCT, visual fields, etc.), visual acuity, intraocular pressure</li><li>Assist doctor during exams and procedures</li><li>Scribe when needed</li><li>Maintain efficient patient flow while delivering an elevated patient experience</li><li>Educate patients on treatments and eyewear options</li><li>Maintain strict aseptic techniques during all clinical procedures to ensure patient safety and comply with HIPAA regulations</li><li>Manage medical records efficiently using electronic health record (EHR) systems</li><li>Support front desk operations by scheduling appointments, handling patient inquiries, and managing retail sales of eyewear products</li><li>Collaborate with the team to ensure clinic operations run smoothly, including inventory management of optical supplies and retail items</li><li>Educate patients on eye health, treatment plans, and proper use of prescribed eyewear or medications</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Prior experience in a medical office setting or ophthalmology clinic is preferred (willing to train the right candidate)</li><li>Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to eye health</li><li>Familiarity with optical equipment such as slit lamps, autorefractors, and visual field analyzers</li><li>Ability to perform intake procedures accurately while maintaining patient confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines</li><li>Experience with EMR systems or similar platforms for documentation and record keeping</li><li>Excellent patient care skills with a friendly, professional demeanor</li><li>Basic retail math skills for managing eyewear sales and inventory control</li><li>Knowledge of medical billing and coding processes related to ophthalmic services is a plus</li><li>Pediatric experience is advantageous for working effectively with young patients</li><li>Join us in making a difference through exceptional eye care!
