Email or mail a resume and application to:Sioux County Engineer's Office, Attn: Joel Sikkema, 207 Central Ave SE, Orange City, IA 51041Job Summary Join the Sioux County Roads Department as a Foreman in the Sioux Center Shop, where you will manage and perform a wide range of road maintenance work.Responsibilities<ul><li>Build strong working relationships with the shop road maintenance personnel</li><li>Schedule, monitor, and assist in completing a wide variety of road maintenance work</li><li>Order and maintain supplies, inventory, and tools</li><li>Use and monitor use of tools, trucks, and road construction equipment</li><li>Oversee and perform maintenance on heavy equipment and trucks</li><li>Communicate with the public and respond to their requests</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>High School diploma or GED</li><li>Minimum of three (3) years' experience working under the direction and supervision of a district maintenance foreman, or sufficient experience from working in the road maintenance or road construction field or sufficient experience in municipal street maintenance as a foreman, supervisor, etc.</li><li>Valid Iowa Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) and proof of insurance</li><li>Knowledge and ability to use and apply the proper equipment, tools, supplies, etc. in performing a wide variety of road maintenance work</li><li>Basic understanding of mechanical principles and metal welding principles</li><li>Able to adapt to changes in procedures, technology, etc. and apply these changes to completing the road work</li><li>Able to keep organized and accurate records</li><li>Able to work independently and prioritize work</li></ul>Competitive wages, IPERS pension plan, affordable health insurance with low deductible, employer-paid life and accident insurance, access to dental and vision insurance, and additional voluntary benefits.APPLY NOW at siouxcountyia.gov/engineerHave questions?
