Job Summary
Join the Sioux County Roads Department as a Foreman in the Sioux Center Shop, where you will manage and perform a wide range of road maintenance work.

Responsibilities

• Build strong working relationships with the shop road maintenance personnel
• Schedule, monitor, and assist in completing a wide variety of road maintenance work
• Order and maintain supplies, inventory, and tools
• Use and monitor use of tools, trucks, and road construction equipment
• Oversee and perform maintenance on heavy equipment and trucks
• Communicate with the public and respond to their requests

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• Minimum of three (3) years' experience working under the direction and supervision of a district maintenance foreman, or sufficient experience from working in the road maintenance or road construction field or sufficient experience in municipal street maintenance as a foreman, supervisor, etc.
• Valid Iowa Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) and proof of insurance
• Knowledge and ability to use and apply the proper equipment, tools, supplies, etc. in performing a wide variety of road maintenance work
• Basic understanding of mechanical principles and metal welding principles
• Able to adapt to changes in procedures, technology, etc. and apply these changes to completing the road work
• Able to keep organized and accurate records
• Able to work independently and prioritize work
