SIP Coffee &amp; BeerServer Team Member Job DescriptionJob OverviewJoin the SIP team as a Server Team Member and help create the welcoming, energetic experience our guests expect. SIP is built around great drinks, genuine hospitality, and a space where people want to stay, connect, and come back.As a Server Team Member, you will provide friendly and efficient service, take and process orders using Toast POS, serve coffee, food, beer, wine, and alcoholic beverages, maintain a clean and inviting environment, and support the team wherever needed.This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys people, works with urgency, takes pride in their environment, and understands that hospitality is more than taking an order.ResponsibilitiesGuest Experience &amp; Hospitality<ul><li>Welcome and engage every guest with friendly, genuine hospitality.</li><li>Take ownership of the guest experience from arrival through departure.</li><li>Answer questions and make recommendations about coffee, food, beer, wine, cocktails, and other menu offerings.</li><li>Check in with guests and anticipate needs whenever possible.</li><li>Resolve basic guest concerns professionally and involve leadership when appropriate.</li><li>Create an environment where guests feel recognized, comfortable, and appreciated.</li><li>Look for opportunities to build relationships with regular guests and the surrounding community.</li></ul>Order Taking &amp; Toast POS<ul><li>Accurately take and enter guest orders using the Toast POS system.</li><li>Process cash, credit card, gift card, and other approved forms of payment accurately.</li><li>Maintain accuracy when entering modifications, discounts, and special requests.</li><li>Communicate orders clearly with baristas, bartenders, kitchen, and other team members.</li><li>Suggest additional items and appropriate pairings that enhance the guest experience.</li><li>Maintain knowledge of current menu items, pricing, promotions, and product availability.</li></ul>Beer, Wine &amp; Alcohol Service<ul><li>Serve beer, wine, cocktails, and other alcoholic beverages according to SIP standards and applicable laws.</li><li>Verify identification and legal drinking age before serving alcohol when required.</li><li>Follow responsible alcohol service practices at all times.</li><li>Monitor guest alcohol consumption and immediately involve leadership when service should be slowed, refused, or discontinued.</li><li>Maintain knowledge of SIP's beer, wine, cocktail, and alcoholic beverage offerings.</li><li>Properly handle glassware, alcoholic beverages, and bar service equipment.</li><li>Follow all applicable Arizona liquor laws and SIP alcohol service policies.</li></ul>Food &amp; Beverage Service<ul><li>Deliver food and beverages accurately, efficiently, and with appropriate presentation.</li><li>Assist with coffee and beverage preparation as trained and needed.</li><li>Properly handle, portion, plate, and serve food products.</li><li>Follow food safety, sanitation, allergen awareness, and proper food-handling procedures.</li><li>Maintain appropriate stocking levels for service areas throughout the shift.</li><li>Communicate product outages or quality concerns promptly.</li></ul>Cleaning &amp; Store Standards<ul><li>Maintain clean tables, counters, floors, service areas, patios, restrooms, and guest spaces throughout the shift.</li><li>Clear and reset tables promptly.</li><li>Wash and properly store dishes, glassware, utensils, and service equipment.</li><li>Complete opening, closing, and assigned side-work responsibilities.</li><li>Clean spills and address cleanliness or safety concerns immediately.</li><li>Restock napkins, straws, cups, glassware, condiments, and other service supplies.</li><li>Follow established cleaning schedules and sanitation procedures.</li><li>Take shared ownership of the entire store rather than waiting to be asked when something needs attention.</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Strong hospitality and customer service skills with a friendly, approachable attitude.</li><li>Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with guests and coworkers.</li><li>Comfortable learning and operating the Toast POS system.</li><li>Ability to accurately handle cash and electronic transactions.</li><li>Ability to learn SIP's coffee, food, beer, wine, and cocktail menus.</li><li>Ability to meet all legal requirements applicable to serving alcoholic beverages.</li><li>Ability to follow responsible alcohol service practices and identification procedures.</li><li>Understanding of basic food safety and sanitation practices.</li><li>Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities during busy periods.</li><li>Ability to work effectively as part of a team.</li><li>Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, accuracy, and detail.</li><li>Willingness to clean and maintain all areas of the caf&eacute; as part of the position.</li><li>Ability to stand and move for extended periods and perform the physical responsibilities associated with restaurant and caf&eacute; service.</li><li>Previous restaurant, caf&eacute;, bar, hospitality, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.</li></ul>What Success Looks Like at SIPSuccessful Server Team Members are hospitality-driven, dependable, attentive, clean, knowledgeable, and proactive.
