All remote candidates will be rejected.-----------------------------------------------------------------------Sliger is a small family owned and operated US based manufacturer of computer cases for gaming PCs, workstations, servers, and other specialty computer systems and cases.In this CAD designer position you will be doing a mix of everything we do; CAD design work, cooling and thermal testing/validation, 3D printing, to hands-on experience with CNC punches, tooling, materials, press brakes, powder coating, UV printing, electronic cable production, mechanical and electromechanical assembly, and general real-world manufacturing experience.Daily work will cover the full spectrum of design work required for computer cases; including design for manufacture of proper sheet metal parts, enclosures that can meet regulatory requirements, environmental testing, EMI/ESD certification, and misc. customer safety requirements.Design projects will range from consumer facing desktop cases, to small form factor fanless PC, high performance servers, medical computers, and military/defense.On our end we are looking for someone reliable, with interest in sheet metal and computer systems who desires a career in engineering and/or manufacturing.Responsibilities<ul><li>Utilizing CAD software; Siemens Solid Edge, to create and update 3D CAD models of computer hardware assemblies to meet space, airflow, and performance requirements</li><li>Design sheet metal brackets, 3D-printed parts, and related components</li><li>Verify manufacturability of parts using in-house machinery, tooling, and fabrication processes</li><li>Generate engineering drawings, fabrication files, and work travelers for production</li><li>Creating mechanical assembly documentation and production work order documentation.</li><li>Build and test prototypes yourself, gaining experience with shop equipment and production processes</li><li>Soldering, striping, crimping, housing, and pinning of small volume wire assemblies.</li><li>Collaborate with production staff to refine designs for manufacturability and cost</li><li>Design and creation of jigs and tools when required for production</li><li>Support design validation efforts (fit, airflow, strength testing, etc.)</li><li>Troubleshooting of fabrication issues, quality defects.</li><li>Communicate directly with customers and internal sales team on design requirements and feedback</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>CAD experience (Siemens / SolidEdge preferred, but SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Inventor, or similar will suffice)</li><li>Familiarity with computer hardware components (PC parts, servers, or electronics enclosures)</li><li>Experiencing in PC building (have built your own PC and/or PCs for others)</li><li>Knowledge of airflow/cooling requirements for PC/server hardware</li><li>Strong attention to detail and ability to create accurate drawings and documentation</li><li>Strong problem-solving and communication skills</li><li>Ability to balance desk-based CAD work with production-floor collaboration</li><li>Willingness to work hands-on with prototypes and learn operation of shop equipment</li></ul>Preferred (but not required)<ul><li>Experience with sheet metal fabrication</li><li>Prior customer-facing experience in engineering or technical support</li><li>Previous electronic packaging design expereince</li></ul>Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Internship, ApprenticeshipPay: $18.00 - $28.00 per hourExpected hours: 40 per weekBenefits:<ul><li>Employee discount</li><li>Flexible schedule</li><li>Paid time off</li></ul>Work Location: In person
