Job Purpose:To assist the Purchase Department in procuring raw materials, consumables, mechanical/electrical spares, and services required for the smooth functioning of the rolling mill. Ensures timely order placement, vendor coordination, documentation, and inventory follow-up.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Purchase Operations:</li><li>Assist in raising purchase orders (PO) for required materials and services.</li><li>Collect quotations, prepare comparative statements, and negotiate prices with vendors.</li><li>Coordinate with the accounts department for vendor payments and invoice matching.</li><li>Maintain purchase records and documentation.</li><li>Vendor Management:</li><li>Source and develop reliable suppliers for rolling mill-related equipment and consumables.</li><li>Maintain vendor database and performance evaluation records.</li><li>Ensure on-time delivery by regular follow-up.</li><li>Inventory Coordination:</li><li>Coordinate with stores for stock status and reordering levels.</li><li>Avoid overstocking or stockouts by ensuring timely procurement.</li><li>Compliance &amp; Documentation:</li><li>Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and ISO standards.</li><li>Assist in audit preparation and documentation as required.</li><li>Logistics Support:</li><li>Track and manage inward logistics (transportation of materials from suppliers).</li><li>Coordinate with transporters and handle delivery issues.</li></ul>Key Skills Required:<ul><li>Basic knowledge of rolling mill equipment and industrial supplies.</li><li>Good negotiation and communication skills.</li><li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.</li><li>Knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word) and ERP systems like SAP/Tally.</li><li>Ability to multitask and handle pressure.</li></ul>Educational Qualification:<ul><li>Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Supply Chain, or Engineering.</li><li>Additional certification in materials management is a plus.</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>1&ndash;3 years in an industrial purchase/procurement role (preferably in steel or manufacturing industries).</li></ul>Working Conditions:<ul><li>On-site work at plant location.</li><li>Occasional visits to local suppliers/vendors.</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timeWork Location: In person
