Job Summary Specialty Chemical Co., LLC, part of the ChemGroup, is seeking a Senior level Purchasing Associate to join our team. SCC is an industrial and specialty chemical distribution company based in Cleveland, TN. The Purchasing Associate role is a mid-level position supporting Sales, Customer Service and Operations, with a primary focus to meet current business demands and future growth opportunities.Roles and Responsibilities (may not be all-inclusive)<ul><li>Coordination of purchasing activities to fulfill direct delivery customer sales</li><li>Ensure orders are delivered meeting time constraints</li><li>Communicate material and freight cost impactors to Sales team</li><li>Develop direct relationships with primary suppliers and carriers</li><li>Material sourcing of products and suppliers</li><li>Perform Receiving and Stock Transfers as needed to support the Purchasing team</li><li>Ensure all material orders are at correct cost and quantity for accurate accounting activities</li><li>Ability to negotiate a fast-paced environment to meet time sensitive deadlines</li><li>Ability to identify solutions when presented with evolving customer or carrier requirements</li><li>Utilize multiple communication methods (email, phone, Teams)</li><li>Support other departments as needed</li></ul>Minimum Qualifications:<ul><li>7-10 years&rsquo; experience in a purchasing or supply chain related role</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills</li><li>Strong organizational and time management skills</li><li>Strong communication skills</li><li>Direct experience with ERP systems</li><li>Experience and proficiency with various web-based software applications including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, etc.</li><li>HS / GED Required</li><li>Ability to pass drug/background</li></ul>Standout Qualifications:<ul><li>4-year degree in business or related field of study</li><li>Purchasing experience within a chemical environment</li><li>Material costing</li><li>Experience with third party freight logistics and bulk material carriers</li></ul>Benefits:<ul><li>Salary range &ndash; qualification and experience dependent</li><li>Quarterly Profit Sharing</li><li>Paid Vacation, Sick and Holiday</li><li>Medical, Dental and Vision offered</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timeBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Flexible spending account</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>Purchasing or Supply Chain related: 5 years (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
