Position Overview: SLAM Miami is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Counselor to support the social-emotional well-being and academic success of our students. The ideal candidate will provide counseling services, implement prevention programs, and collaborate with staff, families, and community partners to foster a safe and supportive school environment.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Provide individual and group counseling to students addressing social, emotional, and behavioral needs</li><li>Conduct risk assessments and provide crisis intervention when necessary</li><li>Develop and implement social-emotional learning (SEL) programs and workshops</li><li>Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student success</li><li>Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with FERPA guidelines</li><li>Refer students and families to external mental health services and community resources</li><li>Participate in MTSS/RTI meetings and contribute to intervention planning</li><li>Support attendance, behavior, and academic initiatives through counseling services</li><li>Provide professional development and resources to staff on mental health awareness</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Master&rsquo;s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field</li><li>Valid Florida certification/licensure (e.g., LMHC, LCSW, or School Counselor Certification)</li><li>Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children or adolescents (school setting preferred)</li><li>Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and crisis intervention strategies</li><li>Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills</li><li>Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred</li></ul>Preferred Skills:<ul><li>Experience working in a charter school or urban school setting</li><li>Familiarity with SEL programs and behavior intervention plans</li><li>Ability to build strong relationships with students and families</li><li>Experience with data tracking and progress monitoring</li></ul>Work Schedule &amp; Environment:<ul><li>Full-time position aligned with the school calendar</li><li>Collaborative, student-centered school culture</li><li>Opportunities for professional growth and leadership</li></ul>Why Join SLAM Miami?<ul><li>A supportive and mission-driven team focused on student achievement and well-being</li><li>Opportunities to make a meaningful impact on students&rsquo; lives</li><li>Dynamic school community with a focus on academics, athletics, and leadership</li></ul>Pay: From $50,100.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Flexible spending account</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Health savings account</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Professional development assistance</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Work Location: In person
