Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Middle School Writing Teacher to inspire and cultivate strong writing skills among young learners. In this role, you will design engaging curricula, foster a love for creative and analytical writing, and support students in developing their voice and clarity. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students&rsquo; literacy development and academic success.Duties<ul><li>Develop comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating creative writing, journalism, and literacy education techniques</li><li>Implement innovative instructional strategies utilizing learning technology to enhance student engagement and understanding</li><li>Provide clear instruction on AP style, Chicago Manual of Style, and proofreading to elevate students&rsquo; writing quality</li><li>Mentor students individually and in groups, offering constructive feedback to improve their writing skills and critical thinking</li><li>Design assessments, including standardized testing preparation, to evaluate student progress and tailor instruction accordingly</li><li>Foster a positive classroom environment through effective classroom management and behavior management techniques</li><li>Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional design, and educational best practices to ensure cohesive learning experiences</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Education, English, Linguistics, or a related field; Master&rsquo;s degree preferred</li><li>Proven classroom experience teaching middle school students with a focus on writing or literacy education</li><li>Strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional design, and assessment strategies</li><li>Expertise in AP style, Chicago Manual of Style, copy editing, proofreading, and research methods</li><li>Experience working with diverse learners, including those requiring special education accommodations or Montessori methodologies</li><li>Excellent communication skills paired with organizational skills for lesson planning and classroom management</li><li>Familiarity with learning technology platforms, library services, and educational administration tools</li><li>Demonstrated ability to mentor students effectively while fostering creativity in writing projects such as creative writing and journalism assignments</li></ul>Join us in shaping the next generation of confident writers!
