Position: Preschool Assistant TeacherPurpose/Summary Statement:SCCS is looking for a vibrant Preschool Assistant Teacher to educate, care for, and inspire the young minds at our preschool.MISSION STATEMENTBecause every student has value as an image bearer of God we provided opportunities to grow in wisdom, build healthy relationships, and serve our community.STATEMENT OF VISION	We are an educational community that supports and develops one another in a lifelong journey of knowing Jesus.Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities:<ul><li>Supervise children to ensure their safety and well-being at all times.</li><li>Provide nurturing guidance and discipline.</li><li>Encourage social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and spiritual development.</li><li>Model kindness, patience, and Christ-like behavior in all interactions.</li><li>Assist the Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lessons and activities.</li><li>Supervise and plan for preschool after school care program.</li><li>Support daily routines, including circle time, centers, outdoor play, meals, and rest time.</li><li>Help prepare classroom materials and learning environments.</li><li>Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom.</li><li>Collaborate effectively with the Teachers and staff.</li><li>Communicate respectfully and professionally with parents and guardians.</li><li>Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and school events as required.</li></ul>Required Skill Sets:<ul><li>Strong Biblical knowledge</li><li>Display strong interpersonal and problem solving skills.</li><li>Cooperate with other employees to create a trusting, honest, and productive work environment.</li></ul>Required Proficiencies and/or Certifications:<ul><li>Min. 2 years post secondary education, or 2 years childcare experience.</li><li>CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).</li></ul>*Note: Candidates must pass a criminal background check to be eligible for employmentDirect Report:This position reports to the Preschool Director and the SCCS Head of SchoolContract:<ul><li>15 - 28 hours per week, will require some afterschool hours</li></ul>Benefits:<ul><li>Hourly wage TBD</li><li>State Required PTO</li></ul>Performance Standards:<ul><li>Job Knowledge: The ability to understand concepts and perform tasks and specialties outlined within the job role.
