Position: Preschool Assistant Teacher

Purpose/Summary Statement:

SCCS is looking for a vibrant Preschool Assistant Teacher to educate, care for, and inspire the young minds at our preschool.

Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Supervise children to ensure their safety and well-being at all times.
• Provide nurturing guidance and discipline.
• Encourage social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and spiritual development.
• Model kindness, patience, and Christ-like behavior in all interactions.
• Assist the Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lessons and activities.
• Supervise and plan for preschool after school care program.
• Support daily routines, including circle time, centers, outdoor play, meals, and rest time.
• Help prepare classroom materials and learning environments.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom.
• Collaborate effectively with the Teachers and staff.
• Communicate respectfully and professionally with parents and guardians.
• Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and school events as required.

Required Skill Sets:

• Strong Biblical knowledge
• Display strong interpersonal and problem solving skills.
• Cooperate with other employees to create a trusting, honest, and productive work environment.

Required Proficiencies and/or Certifications:

• Min. 2 years post secondary education, or 2 years childcare experience.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

*Note: Candidates must pass a criminal background check to be eligible for employment

Direct Report:

This position reports to the Preschool Director and the SCCS Head of School

Contract:

• 15 - 28 hours per week, will require some afterschool hours

Benefits:

• Hourly wage TBD
