 StaffBright is partnering with a manufacturing organization to bring on an Engineering Director to lead engineering operations, product development, and project execution. This position will oversee a team of Tool Engineers and Project Engineers while driving innovation, supporting manufacturing initiatives, and ensuring engineering projects are completed efficiently and accurately. The ideal candidate will bring a strong automotive background, proven leadership experience, and the ability to balance technical expertise with team development and strategic execution.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 Please Note:
 
 
 Only candidates with automotive manufacturing engineering experience will be considered. This role is focused on mechanical engineering, tool design, and product development&mdash;not IT, software, network, systems, or technology engineering.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 What You Will Be Doing
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Lead, direct, and coordinate engineering activities across product development, tooling, and manufacturing projects.
 </li>
 <li>
 Manage and develop a team of six direct reports, including Tool Engineers and Project Engineers.
 </li>
 <li>
 Oversee the design, development, and implementation of new products, processes, and engineering solutions.
 </li>
 <li>
 Drive research and development initiatives that support innovation and continuous improvement.
 </li>
 <li>
 Evaluate engineering processes and ensure projects meet quality, cost, and timing objectives.
 </li>
 <li>
 Identify training and development opportunities to strengthen team capabilities and succession planning.
 </li>
 <li>
 Recruit, hire, and build high-performing engineering teams as business needs evolve.
 </li>
 <li>
 Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and clear direction to engineering personnel.
 </li>
 <li>
 Review engineering work for accuracy, feasibility, and compliance with project requirements.
 </li>
 <li>
 Partner with operations, manufacturing, and leadership teams to align engineering efforts with business objectives.
 </li>
 <li>
 Present engineering initiatives and gain support from executive leadership and key stakeholders.
 </li>
 <li>
 Coordinate activities across departments to ensure successful project execution and product launches.
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 
 
 
 
 What We Need From You
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Bachelor's degree in Engineering strongly preferred.
 </li>
 <li>
 5+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager or in a similar engineering leadership role.
 </li>
 <li>
 7+ years of supervisory experience leading engineering teams.
 </li>
 <li>
 Minimum of 5 years of automotive industry experience, including automotive experience within the last two years.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong understanding of tool design and manufacturing processes.
 </li>
 <li>
 Proven experience leading engineering projects from concept through production.
 </li>
 <li>
 Demonstrated ability to develop teams, manage priorities, and drive results.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to collaborate effectively with operations, manufacturing, and executive leadership teams.
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience with AutoCAD Inventor preferred.
 </li>
 <li>
 Manufacturing experience, in addition to automotive industry experience, is a plus.
 </li>
