Editor &ndash; State Bar of Michigan (Lansing, Michigan)About the Role We&rsquo;re seeking a skilled Editor to lead high-impact communications that inform, engage, and inspire Michigan&rsquo;s legal community. This role blends strategic thinking with hands-on writing and editing, ensuring every piece of content&mdash;across print and digital&mdash;meets the highest standards of clarity, accuracy, and impact.What You&rsquo;ll Do<ul><li>Lead production of the Michigan Bar Journal, managing contributors, editing content, and delivering each issue on time</li><li>Develop and execute strategic communications plans and messaging</li><li>Write and edit content for web, email, marketing campaigns, and instructional materials</li><li>Supervise and mentor a Communications Specialist and freelance contributors</li><li>Manage workflows, deadlines, and content approvals across multiple projects</li><li>Partner with design/brand teams to align messaging with visual standards</li><li>Maintain editorial guidelines and ensure consistency across all communications</li><li>Identify opportunities to improve engagement and communication effectiveness</li></ul>What You Bring<ul><li>Exceptional writing and editing skills with a versatile voice</li><li>Strong project management and organizational abilities</li><li>Experience leading or supervising content teams</li><li>7+ years of relevant professional experience</li><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in communications, journalism, English, or related field</li><li>Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Asana) preferred</li><li>Understanding of Michigan&rsquo;s legal community, the mission of the State Bar of Michigan, and relevant legal precedents such as Keller and AO-2004-01</li></ul>How to apply: Please send a cover letter (required for candidate consideration) and resume to employment@michbar.org.
