<div>Summary of Work
Job Duration: May 1st through September 27th. Start and end dates are negotiable, and hours are flexible! Part-time and full-time positions are available according to applciants' preference.
The Grounds &amp; Maintenance Technician role is responsible for:<ul><li>
Landscape maintenance, including lawn mowing, tree pruning, and weeding in all areas on site as needed
</li><li>Remove trash from all locations and transport to designated dumpster
</li><li>Perform cleaning duties as assigned, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, floor waxing, vacuuming, restroom and window cleaning, garbage removal, and others as they arise.
</li><li>Assist site staff with small maintenance projects and cleaning projects as required
</li><li>Maintain machinery and tools in proper working order
</li><li>Keep inventory of supplies on hand and inform supervisor of needs
</li><li>Perform some painting of structures, both interior and exterior
</li></ul>Minimum Qualifications
<ul><li>Must be at least 18 years of age.
</li><li>Must have experience with using, or willingness to learn, power tools such as a chainsaw, string trimmer, roto tiller, and drill.</li>
<li>Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
</li><li>Must be able to lift/move 50 pounds on a regular basis.</li>
<li>Must be able communicate effectively and work with other team members.

About Fort Totten State Historic Site: Originally built as a military fort in 1867, Fort Totten was later converted into an Indian boarding school. Starting at the Visitors Center, guests were guided along the boardwalk on a tour of some of the best-preserved military buildings in the United States. Museum exhibits and window displays describe the military and boarding school history of both the fort and the surrounding area.

NDDOT Equipment Operator II Salary: $4,840 / month
NDDOT Equipment Operator I Salary: $4,289 / month
Filling this position as an Equipment Operator in Training may be considered if unable to fill as an Operator I or Operator II. The salary would be $4,075 / month.
As an Equipment Operator, you will perform highway, roadway, and structure maintenance. This includes operating heavy equipment to perform required maintenance duties like basic snow and ice control/removal. You will complete highway maintenance duties, which include assisting in installing, repairing, and maintaining highway signs and guardrails. To complete these tasks and others assigned, you will operate power tools and other equipment to perform maintenance duties. Part of this job is to keep the roadways clear of any hazards, this includes litter, waste, debris, garbage, and carcasses.
You will complete building and ground maintenance duties, and general routine maintenance of the roadway and radio system equipment. You will also perform minor preventive and repair maintenance on vehicles and equipment. Maintain necessary paperwork, including time records, activity reporting, daily diary, road reports, etc. You will receive training and perform construction project duties under close supervision.

Minimum Qualifications
To be considered as an Equipment Operator II, you must have a valid North Dakota Class A driver license without air brake restrictions and a cargo tank endorsement (N) by the first day of work. In addition, two years of relevant experience or one year of experience and one season of winter operations similar to NDDOT.
To be considered as an Equipment Operator I, you must have a valid North Dakota Class B driver license without air brake restrictions.
If unable to find a candidate with preferred experience, will consider filling this position as an Equipment Operator in Training, which requires a valid North Dakota Class A driver permit without air brake restrictions and a cargo tank endorsement (N) by the first day of work. The employee will have 12 months to obtain a North Dakota Class A driver license without air brake restrictions and a cargo-tank endorsement (N).
This position requires reporting to work within 30 minutes, after hours, on weekends, and on holidays during emergency events.
Employment of the selected candidate will be contingent on satisfactorily completing the interview process and the required drug test, medical screening, reference check, driver record check and federal clearinghouse query screening.
