Excellent communications skills and technical expertise are needed to support and coordinate with Region staff in maintenance, design and operations. This individual regularly interacts with individuals at the University level in research activities and manufacturers in the industry to develop new tools and products.<br>

<b>Principle Duties</b><br>
As the Traffic and Safety Operations Engineer, you will:<ul><li>
Develop innovative processes, designs and management schemes to improve safety and operational efficiency roadside barriers and attenuation.</li><li>
Determine likely areas for innovation in Traffic and Safety including the incorporation of work zone technologies, guidance on innovative intersections and concepts, asset management and guidance and management of research efforts within the division.</li><li>
Develop and implement standards related to roadway signing, roadside barriers, attenuation, Traffic control and ADA installations.</li><li>
Oversee the provision region and project support in relation to MUTCD, attenuation, barrier, work zone inspection and ADA issues including project reviews.</li><li>
Oversee the development of department training regarding Traffic Control, ADA infrastructure, Roadside Design Guide, Attenuator and Guardrail and MUTCD.</li><li>
Support and provide guidance on Policy and Administrative rules assigned to the Traffic and Safety Division.</li><li>
Participate as a UDOT representative in national groups such as Committee on Traffic Engineering (CTE) and National Committee on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (NCUTCD).</li><li>
Coordinate and/or act as a liaison between UDOT Traffic and Safety and UDOT Regions.</li></ul><b>
Minimum Qualifications</b><br>

Be registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Utah</li><li>

Paralegal - Litigation - Civil Rights

<p></p><div><div><div>The Utah Division of Indian Affairs is looking for a <b>Native American Cultural Liaison/Program Specialist</b>. Incumbents are accountable for performing specific responsibilities and will develop and maintain cooperative relationships with state, local, and private agencies, as well as Tribal governments within the state. The Cultural Liaison will provide consultation with the eight federally recognized Tribal governments on State projects that either directly or indirectly affect them. UDIA coordinates with state agency Tribal liaisons to find mutually beneficial solutions to issues impacting Native communities.<br>

This position would serve an estimated population of 45,000 Native Americans living in Utah&rsquo;s urban areas, as well as those living on reservations throughout the State. Currently, there are eight federally recognized Tribes in Utah: Ute Indian Tribe, Ute Mountain Ute-White Mesa Community, Navajo Nation, San Juan Southern Paiute, Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah, Skull Valley Band of Goshute, Confederated Tribes of the Goshute Reservation, and the Northwestern Band of Shoshone Nation.<br>

<b>Principal Duties</b><br>
As the Native American Cultural Liaison, you will:<ul><li>
Encourage and involve tribal governments to protect the State&rsquo;s cultural and archeological sites for the benefit of future generations and cultural preservation, in coordination with State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) programs.</li><li>
Serve as the primary contact between tribal governments and the Department of Cultural &amp; Community Engagement projects. Examples include but are not limited to:<ul><li>
Museum of Utah (State History Museum) - including exhibition content, educational and community programming</li><li>
Tribal libraries and STEM opportunities with Tribal communities</li></ul></li><li>
Establish a cultural working group across divisions within the Department of Community and Cultural Engagement to ensure efforts to engage tribal communities are effective, organic, and representative. The working group will include partners from the Utah Division of Indian Affairs, Utah Division of Arts &amp; Museums, Utah State Library, and other CCE divisions. Assist this group in making inroads and building relationships with official and &quot;unofficial&quot; culture keepers and experts for each tribe, who are recognized as authorities on cultural practices, history, and community standards.</li><li>
Facilitate Native American Remains Review Committee (NARRC) meetings and assist with the administration of the restricted account grant program in an effort to repatriate ancient human remains and associated funerary objects in coordination with the Ancient Remains program in SHPO.</li></ul><b>

Legal Assistant - Highways & Utilities

<p></p><div><div><div><div>The Division of Technology Services is seeking a motivated individual to be the technical expert for an application development team supporting the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT). UDOT is transitioning from legacy applications to modern cloud platforms and SaaS solutions. Data pipelines and APIs within GCP/Google BigQuery will be critical in stitching old and new pieces together. The successful candidate will be experienced in establishing and enforcing data architecture and application architecture standards within a cloud environment.</div><p>
The IT Architect provides ongoing technical mentorship and guidance as an internal consultant within Technology Services and serves as a technical resource for IT Analysts. They direct the analysis, design, and implementation of software programs that support UDOT clients, employees, and the organization&rsquo;s mission. The IT Architect documents or approves the documentation of systems and programming actions from initial design through maintenance and problem resolution.</p><p>
This role is distinguished from an IT Analyst by its focus on architecting new projects, identifying solutions for complex technical challenges, and recommending improvements to team standards or the technical stack to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the integrity of the development environment.</p><div>
