Stepping Stone Children&rsquo;s Center | Queen Anne&rsquo;s County, MD Full-Time | Monday&ndash;Friday $20-$22 per hour - plus bonusesStepping Stone Children&rsquo;s Center is seeking an experienced, dependable, and hands-on Assistant Director to help lead the daily operations of our licensed childcare center.This leadership role supports classroom excellence, staff development, family communication, and Maryland licensing compliance while helping ensure a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for children and staff.The ideal candidate has prior experience in a licensed childcare or preschool setting and is ready to grow into a key leadership role.Responsibilities<ul><li>Assist with daily childcare center operations</li><li>Maintain staffing ratios and classroom coverage</li><li>Support teacher coaching, accountability, and performance</li><li>Assist with staff onboarding and training</li><li>Step into classrooms as needed for support and breaks</li><li>Ensure compliance with Maryland State Department of Education and Office of Child Care regulations</li><li>Support incident reporting and documentation</li><li>Communicate professionally with families regarding classroom and center matters</li><li>Help strengthen classroom routines, structure, and supervision</li><li>Assist with tours, enrollment support, and family retention</li><li>Support center culture and leadership initiatives</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Minimum 2 years of experience in a licensed childcare center</li><li>Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred</li><li>Strong understanding of childcare licensing requirements</li><li>Excellent communication and organizational skills</li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Must pass all required background checks and state requirements</li><li>CPR/First Aid certification preferred</li><li>Experience with Brightwheel is a plus</li></ul>Why Join Us<ul><li>Leadership growth opportunity</li><li>Supportive management team</li><li>Professional development opportunities</li><li>Family-oriented center culture</li></ul>Apply today:If you are passionate about early childhood education and leadership, we would love to hear from you.Please submit your resume and relevant childcare leadership experience.Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>Employee assistance program</li><li>Employee discount</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Professional development assistance</li><li>Retirement plan</li></ul>Work Location: In person
