<div>The Quality Control Specialist supports multiple supplier development initiatives and ongoing supplier performance management by performing quality control inspections, validating materials and components, and assisting with supplier performance monitoring. This role ensures that products received from suppliers meet specifications and quality standards, while collaborating with internal teams and suppliers to reduce risk, improve quality, and optimize total cost of ownership. This position is vital for maintaining the integrity of the supply chain and ensuring that end products meet the high standards expected by customers and stakeholders. By leveraging technical expertise, a Quality Control Specialist plays a key role in supply chain management and continuous improvement processes.</div>
<div></div><div><b>Responsibilities &amp; Duties:</b></div>
<ul><li>Support Sourcing Specialists and Supplier Quality Engineers/Quality Assurance Engineers with supplier qualification and approval processes.</li>
<li>Plan and perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections on materials and components, either in-process or out-going at supplier site, or in-coming at client, per established sampling plans.</li>
<li>Observe supplier-conducted inspection processes as needed.</li>
<li>Document inspection results accurately in QMS or ERP systems per Document Control and Records Management procedures.</li>
<li>Observe first article inspections First Article Inspection <i>(FAI) </i>and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) verification for new supplier parts.</li>
<li>Support supplier corrective actions <i>(SCARs)</i> by providing inspection data and defect analysis.</li>
<li>Communicate nonconformance findings to suppliers and internal teams promptly.</li>
<li>Maintain inspection records, certificates of compliance, and traceability documentation.</li>
<li>Prepare daily/weekly reports on incoming quality performance and defect trends.</li>
<li>Ensure proper labeling and segregation of accepted and rejected materials.</li>
<li>Work closely with Procurement, Engineering, and Quality Engineers to resolve supplier-related issues.</li>
<li>Support audits and supplier visits by providing inspection data and observations.</li>
<li>Assist in training new team members on inspection techniques and quality standards.</li>
<li>Identify recurring defects and escalate to Quality Engineers for root cause analysis.</li>
<li>Suggest improvements to inspection processes and supplier quality practices.</li>
<li>Other duties and responsibilities as required in support of client business objectives.</li>

<div></div><div><b>Required Skills/ Abilities:
</b></div><ul><li>Associate degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology; or comparable vocational training in quality or manufacturing or relevant experience in lieu of degree.</li>
<li>Minimum of 3 years of quality control/ supplier quality representative experience in manufacturing/fabrication environments.</li>
<li>Must currently possess or be able to obtain / maintain an active level Q security clearance.</li>
<li>Experience using precision measurement tools to verify compliance with drawings and specifications.</li>
<li>Accuracy &amp; Detail Orientation; ensures precise measurements and documentation.</li>
<li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; identify defects and support resolution.</li>
<li>Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; ensure clear reporting of inspection results and issues.</li>
<li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team.</li>

</ul><div><b>Educational Requirements:
</b></div><ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in an Engineering discipline.</li>
<li>ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or equivalent.</li>
<li>Experience with quality management systems and standards <i>(e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100)</i>, NQA-1.</li>
<li>Exposure to (PPAP), (FAI), and supplier quality processes.</li>
</ul><div><b>Required QC Inspection Credentials:</b></div>

<div></div><div>SMSI is hiring multiple senior level P6 Administrators to support Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) in Los Alamos, New Mexico. These are hybrid positions, working 2 weeks onsite and 2 weeks remotely. The P6 Administrator will support the backend and schedules for Oracle based servers. Candidates must be able to work the software side and layouts of P6. The successful candidate will work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams, interfacing with engineering and operations to ensure consistent project controls practices that support strategic execution and mission success.</div>
<div></div><div><b><i>Location</i></b></div>
<div></div><div>This position is hybrid and will work a schedule rotating from 2 weeks onsite to 2 weeks remote. LANL will provide travel to and from Los Alamos every 2 weeks, per diem, and lodging expenses. When working remotely, the candidate should be able to work between the hours of 9:00-4:00 MST. This position typically works a schedule of 9/80's, with every other Friday off of work.</div>
<div></div><div><b><i>Responsibilities</i></b></div>
<div></div><ul><li>Senior level P6 administration and backend support for Oracle based servers.</li>
<li>Adheres to the Plutonium Facilities Engineering Division&rsquo;s policies, programs, procedures, and practices.</li>
<li>Verifies the adequacy and completeness of Plutonium Facilities Engineering schedule updates.</li>
<li>Performs schedule development, analysis, and maintenance using Primavera P6 or similar scheduling tools.</li>
<li>Develops and maintains detailed resource-loaded schedules that align with project scope, milestones, and deliverables.</li>
<li>Monitors schedule performance, identify variances, and provide actionable recovery strategies.</li>
<li>Prepares and deliver comprehensive project controls reports (daily, weekly, monthly) to project engineers, engineering leads, and stakeholders.</li>
<li>Ensures data integrity and compliance with internal procedures.</li>
<li>Provides mentoring and guidance to junior project controls staff.<br>
</li></ul><div><b><i>Required Skills</i></b></div>
<div></div><ul><li>Position requires a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in P6 Administration and prefer at least 20 years of experience in Project Controls.</li>
<li>Experience working with the backend and schedules of P6 administration is required.</li>
<li>LANL's P6 servers are Oracle based based so knowledge of Oracle systems is beneficial but not required.</li>
<li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work.</li>
<li>Effective communication skills necessary to communicate, contribute, and be a part of a team.</li>
<li>Advanced knowledge of project controls principles, including CPM scheduling and performance measurement.</li>
<li>Proficiency in Primavera P6.</li>
<li>Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.</li>
<li>Familiarity with earned value management principles and application.</li>
<li>Strong understanding of engineering and construction workflows.</li>
<li>Effective problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.</li>
<li>Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.</li>
<li>Familiarity with DOE, NNSA, or nuclear facility project requirements is a plus.</li>
<li>This position requires that the candidate is a US Citizen.</li>
<li>The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Q clearance.</li>
<li>Candidates with an active clearance are preferred.</li>
<li>The candidate must be able to travel to Los Alamos to work onsite at LANL every 2 weeks.</li>
<li>The candidate must have reliable high speed internet while working the rotating 2 weeks remotely.</li>
