Job Summary We are private practice fee for service office seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to work four days a week. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing dental cleanings, and assisting the dentist in various procedures. The Dental Hygienist will play a crucial role in educating patients about oral health and maintaining a safe and sterile environment in the clinic.Our office uses the EMS guided biofilm therapy protocol for cleanings. If not familiar we will provide training.Responsibilities<ul><li>Conduct thorough patient assessments, including reviewing medical history and vital signs.</li><li>Perform dental cleanings and scaling procedures using appropriate techniques.</li><li>Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits.</li><li>Assist the dentist with various procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques.</li><li>Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.</li><li>Ensure infection control protocols are followed, including aseptic techniques and proper sterilization of instruments.</li><li>Utilize dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for patient management and documentation.</li><li>Provide chairside assistance during examinations and treatments, ensuring patient comfort throughout procedures.</li><li>Stay updated on pediatric dentistry practices to effectively treat younger patients.</li></ul>Skills<ul><li>Proficient in dental terminology and medical terminology relevant to patient care and documentation.</li><li>Knowledge of anatomy related to dental health and procedures.</li><li>Experience with EMR systems for efficient record keeping and documentation review.</li><li>Familiarity with medical coding practices as they relate to dental services.</li><li>Strong communication skills to effectively educate patients about their oral health needs.</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while providing exceptional patient care.</li><li>Previous experience in a dental office or clinic setting is preferred, particularly in pediatric dentistry or general dentistry roles.
