Dental Hygienist

Job Summary
We are private practice fee for service office seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to work four days a week. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing dental cleanings, and assisting the dentist in various procedures. The Dental Hygienist will play a crucial role in educating patients about oral health and maintaining a safe and sterile environment in the clinic.

Our office uses the EMS guided biofilm therapy protocol for cleanings. If not familiar we will provide training.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including reviewing medical history and vital signs.
• Perform dental cleanings and scaling procedures using appropriate techniques.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits.
• Assist the dentist with various procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Ensure infection control protocols are followed, including aseptic techniques and proper sterilization of instruments.
• Utilize dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for patient management and documentation.
• Provide chairside assistance during examinations and treatments, ensuring patient comfort throughout procedures.
• Stay updated on pediatric dentistry practices to effectively treat younger patients.

Skills

• Proficient in dental terminology and medical terminology relevant to patient care and documentation.
• Knowledge of anatomy related to dental health and procedures.
• Experience with EMR systems for efficient record keeping and documentation review.
• Familiarity with medical coding practices as they relate to dental services.
• Strong communication skills to effectively educate patients about their oral health needs.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while providing exceptional patient care.
