Job Summary
We are private practice fee for service office seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to work four days a week. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing dental cleanings, and assisting the dentist in various procedures. The Dental Hygienist will play a crucial role in educating patients about oral health and maintaining a safe and sterile environment in the clinic.
Our office uses the EMS guided biofilm therapy protocol for cleanings. If not familiar we will provide training.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including reviewing medical history and vital signs.
- Perform dental cleanings and scaling procedures using appropriate techniques.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Assist the dentist with various procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Ensure infection control protocols are followed, including aseptic techniques and proper sterilization of instruments.
- Utilize dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for patient management and documentation.
- Provide chairside assistance during examinations and treatments, ensuring patient comfort throughout procedures.
- Stay updated on pediatric dentistry practices to effectively treat younger patients.
Skills
- Proficient in dental terminology and medical terminology relevant to patient care and documentation.
- Knowledge of anatomy related to dental health and procedures.
- Experience with EMR systems for efficient record keeping and documentation review.
- Familiarity with medical coding practices as they relate to dental services.
- Strong communication skills to effectively educate patients about their oral health needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while providing exceptional patient care.
