Ideal for portfolio building and gaining industry experience with a 20+ person dev team.About UsWe are a passionate and growing indie studio developing a unique VR game that blends immersive gameplay with stylized multiplayer experiences. We&rsquo;re currently seeking a 3D Animator/Rigger to help bring our low-poly characters and creatures to life through expressive, dynamic animation and clean, functional rigs.This position is a great opportunity to gain real-world experience on a large-scale project, expand your professional network, and sharpen your skills in animation, rigging, and VR workflows.Role &amp; ResponsibilitiesAs a 3D Animator/Rigger, you will:<ul><li>Create and polish animations for characters, creatures, and player interactions.</li><li>Build and maintain rigs for characters, ensuring clean deformation and usability.</li><li>Collaborate with modelers, designers, and developers to integrate rigs and animations into Unity.</li><li>Animate first-person and third-person interactions that feel immersive and responsive in VR.</li><li>Participate in team feedback loops, iterating on animations to improve player experience.</li><li>Help define the game&rsquo;s motion style, adding character and personality through animation.</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>A portfolio or reel showcasing animations and/or rigging work (student or personal projects welcome).</li><li>Experience with animation/rigging software such as Blender, Maya, or similar.</li><li>Understanding of core animation principles (timing, weight, anticipation, etc.).</li><li>Basic knowledge of rigging workflows (controllers, skinning, constraints).</li><li>Willingness to learn Unity animation pipelines and collaborate in a remote team.</li><li>Strong communication skills, openness to feedback, and a proactive mindset.</li><li>Passion for animation, rigging, VR, and stylized game art.</li></ul>What You&rsquo;ll Gain<ul><li>Real-world experience working on a VR game alongside industry professionals and passionate developers.</li><li>The ability to include your work in a professional portfolio or showreel with public credit.</li><li>Remote work flexibility and ownership over key animation and rigging contributions.</li><li>Hands-on insight into the game development pipeline, particularly for VR.</li><li>Potential for future paid opportunities if funding is secured.</li></ul>How to ApplyExcited to gain hands-on experience and grow as an animator/rigger?
