Who we are looking forSugar Land Psychological Associates, a private practice dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate mental health care, is seeking a Psychiatrist to join our growing team. This position offers flexibility in scheduling, with options for in-person services at our Sugar Land office, telepsychiatry across Texas, or a hybrid model tailored to your preferences.The ideal candidate will provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and medication management for adults (and optionally adolescents) as part of a care team of psychologists. Our collaborative environment fosters coordinated care, with a steady referral stream, strong administrative support, and opportunities for professional growth. This is a 1099 independent contractor position with the potential for long-term partnership and leadership opportunities as our medical services expand.Responsibilities<ul><li>Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and medication management for clients within your area of expertise.</li><li>Collaborate closely with psychologists, therapists, and other clinicians to ensure integrated, coordinated treatment planning.</li><li>Conduct periodic follow-ups and treatment reviews to monitor progress and adjust medications as clinically indicated.</li><li>Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in the practice&rsquo;s electronic health record (EHR).</li><li>Adhere to all ethical, legal, and professional standards, as well as state and federal regulations.</li><li>Participate in case consultations, peer review, and optional multidisciplinary team meetings.</li><li>Provide telepsychiatry services via secure, HIPAA-compliant platforms when working remotely.</li><li>Contribute to the practice&rsquo;s mission of providing evidence-based, patient-centered care across diverse populations.</li></ul>Required Qualifications<ul><li>M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.</li><li>Completion of a residency in Psychiatry.</li><li>Active, unrestricted Texas medical license (or eligibility to obtain).</li><li>Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry.</li><li>Demonstrated experience providing outpatient psychiatric care, including medication management.</li><li>Strong clinical judgment, diagnostic acumen, and interpersonal communication skills.</li><li>Comfort with telepsychiatry and electronic health record (EHR) systems.</li><li>Commitment to culturally competent, trauma-informed, and ethical psychiatric practice.</li><li>Professional liability insurance (or willingness to obtain prior to start date).</li></ul>Preferred Qualification(s)<ul><li>Experience working collaboratively within private practice or integrated care settings.</li><li>Interest in working with forensic, occupational, or law enforcement populations.</li><li>Bilingual in English and Spanish.</li></ul>What you receive<ul><li>Compensation: Competitive percentage-based split of billed and collected fees, commensurate with experience and caseload volume.</li><li>Support: Full administrative support, including billing, scheduling, credentialing, and EHR management&mdash;allowing you to focus on patient care.</li><li>Flexibility: Hybrid or telepsychiatry scheduling options with autonomy over your clinical calendar.</li><li>Collaboration: Join a team of psychologists with ongoing referral flow and case coordination.</li><li>Professional Development: Opportunities to expand into leadership, supervision, or specialized program development as our psychiatric services grow.</li></ul>Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, ContractPay: $180.00 - $210.00 per hourExpected hours: No more than 35 per weekWork Location: Hybrid remote in Sugar Land, TX 77479
