<p></p><div><div>The Victim Assistance Director will be responsible for assisting with the daily functions of the Criminal District Attorney&rsquo;s Office including supervising Victim Assistance Coordinators (VACs), staff, and volunteers who assist victims with cases that have been filed by the Criminal District Attorney&rsquo;s Office for prosecution. The Director is responsible for the daily oversight of the unit including assigning cases, monitoring and developing programs and processes, ensuring that victims are afforded their rights as stated in the law, maintaining written information sent to victims, and working with victims, prosecutors, and the community at large. The Director carries a caseload. Additionally, the Director assists with interviewing and the selection process of new Victim Services employees as well as training, monitoring and addressing discipline matters when appropriate.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
Supervisory Responsibilities:</b></div><div>
Supervises one or more employees in the Criminal District Attorney&rsquo;s Office. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these employee(s). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the county&rsquo;s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include including interviewing, and training employee(s); planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.????</div></div><br>

Establishes, administers, supervises and manages the daily responsibilities of the Victim Services Unit. Ensures objectives and duties mandated by law are met.</li><li>
Monitors caseload assignments to VACs, prioritizing projects and organizing efforts as they relate to victims.</li><li>
Supervises and evaluates all Victim Services personnel and procedures. Addresses and implements corrective strategies with personnel and monitors problem issues. Interviews and participates in the hiring process along with the Chief of Staff.</li><li>
Researches and develops best practices and new programs for providing services to victims of crimes as required by law. Creates or modifies processes and procedures to ensure services to crime victims.</li><li>
Designs and develops forms, correspondence, brochures, and other documents. Responsible for online content for the victim services page.</li><li>
Maintains and participates in a viable network of community services. Attends victim service provider meetings and is an intricate part of victim services in the community.</li><li>
Assists victims/families in high-publicity criminal cases. Works directly with crime victims and meets as required by statute.</li><li>
Trains volunteers from victim service agencies. Speaks as requested at local and state trainings regarding victim services and victims&rsquo; rights.</li><li>
Develops, prepares, and maintains monthly and year-to-date statistical reports.</li><li>
Reviews and studies problem areas or concerns regarding victims, social service agencies, the community, or the program. Develops and implements changes to correct problems or concerns.</li><li>
Supervises student interns assigned to Victim Services to ensure a successful and meaningful placement. Develops and implements placement activities in accordance with the universities&rsquo; learning contracts.</li><li>
Coordinates U-Visa application process. Assists victims applying for I-918 supplement B, U Nonimmigrant Status Certification (Uvisas). Maintains attorney list, attends trainings, and interfaces with victims seeking the benefit.</li><li>
Advocates and coordinates continuing education of victims&rsquo; rights with the Criminal District Attorney&rsquo;s Office and other agencies. Coordinates training for the VACs.</li><li>
Prepares and manages grant proposals, ensures compliance with grant requirements, and seeks out grants or available funding as appropriate. Works with funding agencies and other County personnel to ensure that all deadlines are met.</li><li>
Performs all other victim service duties as assigned.</li></ul></div><div><b><br>

<p></p><div><div><ul><li>Master&rsquo;s degree and five (5) full time years of victim assistance and/or social work experience; OR</li><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree and seven (7) full time years of victim assistance and/or social work experience; OR</li><li>
Equivalent education/work experience to meet the Master&rsquo;s degree requirement</li></ul><div></div><div><b><br>
Preferred Requirements:</b></div></div><div><ul><li>
Three (3) years of supervisory experience in a similar/related work environment</li><li>
LMSW (Licensed Master Social Worker)</li><li>
