Job SummaryTaxonomic is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Staff / Tax Preparer to join our team. This role is responsible for preparing and reviewing a wide range of tax returns, supporting client relationships, and assisting in the development of junior staff.Our firm works with individuals, closely held businesses, and high-net-worth clients, providing both tax compliance and planning services.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Prepare, review, and analyze federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, estates, and trusts with accuracy and efficiency.</li><li>Conduct detailed tax research on complex issues such as estate planning, securities law, Mergers &amp; Acquisitions, and regulatory reporting requirements.</li><li>Assist clients with tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities while ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory standards.</li><li>Support audit processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to tax positions taken on returns.</li><li>Review tax returns prepared by staff and provide detailed feedback.</li><li>Work directly with clients to gather information and address tax matters.</li><li>Prepare and review quarterly estimated tax calculations.</li><li>Respond to IRS and state notices and support audit requests.</li><li>Utilize advanced accounting and tax software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Lacerte, ProSeries, CCH or similar platforms and software tools.</li><li>Perform detailed account reconciliation tasks including account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data.</li><li>Conduct tax research and document conclusions.</li><li>Manage multiple client engagements and meet deadlines.</li><li>Assist in training and mentoring junior staff.</li><li>Support internal process improvements.</li><li>Engage in continuous professional development by staying current on changes in tax laws, securities law updates, and industry best practices related to public accounting and private equity.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.</li><li>3&ndash;6+ years of public accounting experience in tax.</li><li>Proven experience in tax preparation with a strong understanding of tax accounting principles, including double entry bookkeeping and financial analysis.</li><li>Extensive knowledge of individual and corporate tax accounting, and regulatory reporting standards.</li><li>Familiarity with accounting and tax software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Lacerte, ProSeries, CCH or similar platforms; proficiency in financial and tax software is required.</li><li>Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and prepare detailed reports.</li><li>Experience working within public accounting firms or corporate finance departments is preferred.</li><li>Demonstrated understanding of GAAP standards along with technical expertise in auditing procedures and financial statement preparation.</li><li>Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple deadlines efficiently.</li><li>Strong communication skills for client interaction as well as collaboration within teams on technical accounting and tax issues.</li></ul>Join us if you&rsquo;re passionate about delivering high-quality tax services while leveraging your comprehensive knowledge of financial concepts!*All tax preparation and review work is performed in-house (no outsourcing or offshore teams).Pay: $80,000.00 - $115,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>Continuing education credits</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Retirement plan</li><li>Work from home</li></ul>Education:<ul><li>Bachelor's (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: Remote
